Yikes. We have the same truck (white).

1,300 miles and so far no real concerns. :fingerscrossed:

It's a beautiful truck and we love it. It drove beautifully until I came out of the grocery store and tried starting it. Hopefully the issue is fixed and we don't have any other breakdowns. I do have to say, the dealership was amazing with their response and help with this situation.

You won’t get that piece on the gloss or chrome window “trim”. I always have thought that is ridiculous.

I posted else where about it but my 25 Platinum Hybrid has been great till about 1000 miles when the oxy sensor went bad, Stealership didn't have one so they ordered it, went in for appt and it was the wrong sensor so they reordered it. Getting close to 2 weeks and no truck.

Glad I found this thread I test drove a 25 TRD Pro and Platinum both Hybrid's on Sat. and was pretty impressed. Current ride 19 Raptor and doesn't need replaced just looking for something new. Lie many I'm still concerned with the issues Toyota is having but then again hell it seems like all manufactures are having issues since coming out of the COVID time frame. Guess I'll have to decide but might just wait for 2026s and go from there. Good luck to all that have issues. I will say it's nice that Toyota seems to fix them instead of back and forth like a lot of manufactures.

Anyone have any paint chipping on/around their tailgate handle? Here are some picture of what I'm seeing on my truck. I'm starting to think that they installed the lip spoiler and painted it. Instead of painting both separately then installing?

I was proactive and spaced out the spoiler on mine to keep it from contacting the tailgate in those corners. Take the inner tailgate access panel off, remove handle, put a couple of rubber grommets in between the spoiler and tailgate, and reassemble. I now have about 1/16" clearance all around.

So i have a 2025, im about 5,000 miles in. I felt something knocking in the driver seat above the lumba when I accelerated or came to stop. they're going to fix it.

When I put the car in drive or reverse, I notice it will lurch forward or backwards sometimes. Like its shifting into gear at a high rpm...idk its weird. they're checking on that too.

Did you happen to get any pics? I took mine in this morning for this and for my powered tailgate which just decided to stop working a couple weeks ago.

I take it in for the scheduled appointment and say "I'll be waiting, if you need to keep it overnight let me know asap so I can leave and schedule for that"
5 hours late the service advisor calls me and tells me they need to reschedule. Can't replicate the seat problem and the tailgate problem is electrical so will need to schedule me a loaner. All things they should have told me 4 hours ago!! I mean seriously, WTH. :frusty:

When I get gas, I park the truck at the pumps, pop the gas door, and then close the driver door. I uncap and pump gas. After getting gas, I get back inside and try to start the truck, the electronics only turn on. No gas engine. I have to get out, lock the door, get back in to start the engine. This issue has been replicated multiple times. I have taken the truck to toyota, who said they couldnt replicate the problem. So I recorded the issue on the gopro below. If anyone has any answers, or helpful tips, that would be greatly appreciated. Mind you, this happens even if I lock or unlock the door after popping the gas door.

Yikes! I've never thought about that happening but I can see how it could on any truck.

I am just guessing. I had some issues with door locks and how thry worked and how I wanted them to work. Autolock kind of stuff, the dealer was no help. Send an Email to toyota for help. I believe it is a security/theft or safety setting.

Try popping the gas door after putting truck in park but before shutting engine off.

Drove my new 25 Hybrid Limited L TRD OR off the lot and notice my steering wheel rests at the 11 o'clock position. Nothing is bent, truck drivers straight. Might wait until after the TRD lift gets installed to fix that. Other than that I'm loving the truck and the power.

2025 SR5 with many options (sticker 66,300) purchased three weeks ago. Climbed into bed to clean and noticed a bouncy feel in the rear 1/3 of bed accompanied by a popping sound. Upon inspection found that the bed is bowed up 3/8” between the rear bolts attaching the bed to the frame. Took to dealer and they tried loosening the bolts, weighing the bow down and then tightening the bolts. Did not work. Obvious to me the bow is a manufacturing error. Went back a week later to meet with district representative. Says they have never seen this. Video taken and sent to Toyota for evaluation. Two weeks later and no resolution. Being told it has been assigned to an engineer for evaluation and also sent to a different section for a “high cost to repair” heads up. Probably looking at bed replacement but they won’t say for sure or if it is just the liner or the side panels also. Not happy at all. Should never have left the factory like this. Being a composite bed(basically reinforced plastic) I fear over time that the constant flexing will lead to it cracking not to mention the extra stress at the bolts. Going to dealer tomorrow for front end vibration and driver and passenger wind noise. Plan to talk to the GM about taking it back and putting me in another one. 445 miles and all these problems. Certainly expected more out of a fourth year model. Have a 22 4Runner that is bomb proof. What happened to Toyota?

Toyota also had problems with workers slapping the Tacoma together when they came out with the 3rd gen. I saw pics of a bed that was very visibly installed correctly. Owner said some brackets were crushed from the factory. Several reports of that. Other things like workers not bothering to fill fluids.

Your 22 4Runner is perfect, just look where it was built.

    • The fact the remote start turns off when the door is opened....
    • The Android Auto interface and Toyota UI is hardly cutting edge
    • --The fact the volume change indication covers th of the screen all the way across is ridiculous
    • --The fact that FM radio is not ordinarily indicated on screen is absurd.
    • Powered tailgate occasionally fails to open and/or close

Update on my 2025 SR5 bed issue, wind noise and front end vibration. No new news on the bow bed. At the mercy of the engineers. Dealership tried to tell me the front end vibration was from road tar found on front left tire. Called B.S. on that since vibration was there from day one and had them check the balance. What do you know, 3 out of 4 tires out of balance. Balanced tires and vibration gone. They test drove my truck and said the wind noise was what was considered normal for the SR5 trim level. Via a YouTube video I showed them a video of a weatherstrip piece that is on the leading inside edge of all 4 doors on trim levels Limited and above. Asked why mine didn’t have it and was told only the more luxurious trims have it. Also told there isn’t even a part number for those parts listed for the SR5. Produced the parts to them (I ordered them through their parts department) and told them I was going to put them on. They told me if I did it would void any warranty on the doors since the work wasn’t done by a certified Toyota technician. They said they could do it but they would need a day since the door(s) had to be taken off to do it. Called B.S. again. Told them to check YouTube. Multiple videos of the installation with doors on and each door taking about 15 minutes. Finally got the service manager to verify that it would not void the warranty if I did it. Checked the pieces before leaving only to discover they had miss marked one and thus I was sent 2 right fronts instead of left and right. More quality Toyota service. Will update when I install them.

Yes, just picked up a 2025 Platinum a few weeks ago…and honestly the thing rides like crap at highway speeds on concrete surfaces with the water channeling grooves cut into the surface. Has steering shakes, quick darting back and forth. My wife gets car sick riding in it.
I had it into the dealership with a couple hundred miles on it, the spent a day checking alignment and suspension etc. and found nothing. The service manager said “it’s a characteristic of the vehicle.” So disappointed, I actually have a case in with Toyota now.

I wonder if it has to do with the tires but would expect that the manufacturer (Toyota) would provide a setup (frame, suspension, steering, tires, etc.) that would work together and provide a decent ride?

Did you own a full size truck before the Platinum and drove it on that concrete?
I ask because my 2018 Tundra with Michelin Defender tires drove like that on concrete.
So it may be a truck and/or tire thing and how they interact with grooved concrete.
Luckily we don’t have much grooved concrete here in central NY.

GoneFushingDave - yes, I have had several full size pickups and SUV!s over the years…and many other vehicles for that matter…never experienced anything like thus.

Michelin LTX/M/S/Defender (or whatever they are calling them now) - I have had several sets of these over the years, and my experience is they have been awesome tires. Thinking of switching to them now?

To be honest people here spent a lot of money on their brand new shiny trucks so of course there will definitely be bias (everyone has to justify their purchase especially a pricey one) and they’re still new, one guy said his 5000 mile truck is “rock solid” you would hope any car after only 5k miles would be

But, not sure what I need to do this on a brand new $75K vehicle…and, what if new tires don’t help???

I'm not a fan of 20" wheels on a truck. Less sidewall = stiffer ride.
The answer might be as simple as letting some air out of your tires.
-5psi could make enough of a difference.

2025 1794 purchased in October. 6500 miles. Only thing so far is a rattle you can hear and feel in steering column when hitting sharp bumps like old cracked up pavement. Haven't had chance to take it to have it checked out. Compared to the 2022 I had, THIS one is a Toyota. If they had built this in 2022 they would have been a lot better off.

What suspension is on your Platinum? Standard, TRD OR, or AVS?

Bought a 2025 1794 on December 30th of 2024, had oil changed at 2K, then last week had my normal 5K oil change at the dealership. Now have 5,700 miles on it with no major issues. Did check my battery when I first bought it and it took quite a bit of distilled water, and today, (3 1/2 months later, it took quite a bit more) so every 3 months I will check it. With the feature AutoStart Stop, these trucks require a SPECIAL battery I am told, so whenever I need a new one, I will get the correct one from Toyota.

I tow a 3,500 lb. boat often and of course have to back it up often. Very annoying that the Auto Brake system goes off and scares the fire out of me, it the trailer gets too close to my vehicle. Also, I turn the Auto/Start Stop button off every time I drive. Theoretically you are supposed to save gas, right? But that savings goes down the drain when you have to change your battery every 4-5 years, and pay more, so nice idea, but really not practical.
Gas mileage is 19.5 on the Interstate with cruise on 75, so maybe it will improve later.

So far, I really can’t complain but if I start having major issues, I am not that person who is ok with driving a loaner vehicle as I am retired and need a 4WD truck/vehicle. I have a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty through Toyota, so that’s something. Hope this helps guys! Keep the faith.
