He thinks he has a problem too despite a page of comments telling him it’s that 5,000 mile message.

WTF did you quote me for?
Not once in my posts did I mention dismissing the message, I only told you why it appeared.
We told you what 'tripped the light' as you say.

Your verbiage seemed to focus on why "Maintenance Required Soon" is explained in your manual but "Maintenance Required" is not.

If there was something specifically wrong with your truck it would have coded, not popped up Maintenance Required.

    Good luck to you..

I'm just looking to read some data from the truck. Is it so wrong to ask how to retrieve some data from vehicle's extensive on-board computer systems? It can be done for a lot of different circumstances. I was only wondering if I could use it to retrieve more information in this circumstance.

sample answer: no, the OBD2 data will not specify what specifically triggered the "Maintenance Required" message
sample answer: (from @Florida AF ) go the the service menu and there will be a red indicator next to the condition that triggered it
sample answer: yest, Carista paired with the OBD2 will give you extended information in this circumstance.

I quoted you to make it clear that I understand that the message can be dismissed but that you didn't answer the actual question.

    Good luck to you too!

OP - you answered your own question in the first post. Since you did the maintenance “early” the light wouldn’t have been on when the maintenance was performed. Because the light wasn’t on - it wasn’t reset. It’s now been 5,000 miles since it was reset so it’s on. The truck doesn’t know you are only half way through the life of the oil change. All it knows is after 5,000 miles to turn that light on and repeat once it’s reset. It’s really that simple.

OP, the simple answer is, there his NO DATA to be retrieved from the maintenance messages. They are simply triggered by mileage from the last reset.

    Hope this helps.

This is my fault... I believed you were not trolling and you honestly had a simple question you wanted some guidance on and people were not answering it in a way you were understanding. Now i side with others, you are either trolling, or dense.

    upload_2025-3-13_15-31-6.png

Sentence one - informational and usefeul.
#2 - back story, cool. thank you.
#3 - I gave you solution to meet this as this information is available in your truck without any tools or dealer required. Actually tells you the answer to your question.
#4 - I didnt directly answer because #3 may solve your ask and I dont know much about Carista.

Then the post you tagged myself and others in...

Good luck on your truck and before you ask, no you cannot attach your iwatch to get truck health information either.
