Not really, just observing your lack of attention to detail.
Not a trait I'd look for when soliciting recommendations on one vehicle vs the next.

Yeah you’re definitely triggered. It’s ok though! I was just answering the OP’s question unlike you. Drive whatever makes you happy!

I appreciate everyone’s input, I think I’ll keep the 2.5 but the discourse held here was beneficial!

I mainly wanted to see first hand experience and I got a few of those, will keep an eye on this thread.

I am triggered so very, very much. Unbelievably so. Your powers of deduction transcend the entire internet.

Here’s what a 75mm on a Harrop 2650 at 6k ft could get you. Stock it comes with an 85mm, and you can get down to a 60mm mostly in 5mm increments aside from the 77.5mm which is what I have at sea level. If you go with a Magnuson 2650 @snivilous makes a variety of comparable sizes for that blower as well. Whipple I think can still be bought but they may not be available anymore shortly it is sounding like.

have you read/heard anything of people going from the altitude configuration to sea level and experiencing issues?

One thing you could do is find a place where you can rent a 24 or 25 and drive it for a week or so. That might help you make your decision.

Yes, you'll make a ton of boost and most likely have issues. The supercharger pulley is 4 bolts to swap so is easy to do, or there's methods to keep the boost low despite the smaller pulley at sea level. If you're in Colorado and go to sea level you'll probably make ~double the boost at sea level that you did in Colorado.

I wouldn’t tune it at elevation and then go flooring it all around town at sea level. That said, that 75mm pulley for example lots of people are running smaller than that even at sea level where it makes about 10psi. The issue comes in with what it was tuned for. That pulley makes 7psi at elevation, but atmospheric pressure is lower at 6k feet also, around 12psi. 12+7 = 19psia in the manifold. The same pulley makes 10 at sea level, with atmospheric pressure at 14.7psia. 14.7+10 = 24.7psia in the manifold. Several people run 10 at sea level, but they’re tuned at sea level.

Keep your 2.5 and wait for the 3.5. Then wait some more to let the issues get ironed out. Your 2.5 will still be solid.

Is running a turbo a solid option? I’m not familiar with the pros and cons of each. Just seems like the turbo would produce more low end without the need for a tune? Looking to be educated haha

    Just drive it in Tow/Haul. It's how a 32V 5.7L V8 should feel.

Yes there are a few guys with turbos now. They are also a solid option. There is a turbo charging a tundra thread that all us supercharged guys have been reading. The power cravings are a bad rabbit hole!

No matter what forced induction option you choose you will need some custom tuning. Any larger single turbo you would find would be appropriate for installing on a 5.7 tundra will pack less punch in lower RPMs than a supercharger, since the supercharger doesn’t have to spool and always has boost available at the will of your right foot. You may be thinking of the 3rd gen with twin smaller turbos that spool quickly and give power in the low end more quickly than a bigger single would. The bigger single turbo packs a nice punch in mid to high range of the RPMs. A turbo may be nice as far as easier boost adjustment if you plan to be driving at varying altitude a lot.

Mechanically I have no concerns after a year of owning this 24 TRD off road hybrid. But the design of the front clip is horrendous! it’s difficult to add an aftermarket bumper because there’s so much cutting involved but if you’re on rough trails the plastic connections will not hold up. Also, if the bottom plastic supports fail the whole front clip is only hanging on by 4 plastic pieces with screws in the engine bay and a couple screws in the fender well. It’s a poop design. They should’ve separated the grill and bumper cover while adding more support points.

Definitely recommend adding an aftermarket bumper before going off road. I’m being forced to right now because my clips broke and whole front clip was sagging.

I made the transition from a 2014 Sequoia Platinum to a 2025 Tundra Limited in November of last year. The Sequoia was more or less bulletproof with only a few minor issues, the most notable the infotainment unit. My youngest heads off to college this fall so no longer had the need for 3 rows. That combined with the low MPG and my desire to have modern technology pushed me into the Tundra. It’s been 3 months and while time will be the ultimate judge, I’ve been happy with the switch. I much prefer the drivetrain in the Tundra and the ride quality is excellent even on E rated, 34” KO3s. Both are great platforms and it really comes down to your use case.
