Best timing belt kit for a 2000 tundra SR5 V8, it has 89k miles and has never been replaced to my knowledge. was wondering if their is a recommendation for replacement and if i should even replace the pullies and such with a kit, i’ll have a shop do the work but i don’t know if the kit is an upsell or a necessity, their is no rust or wear on any of the stuff now i just know the belt needs replaced with its age.

Full kit. Aisin kit from a reputable seller, not eBay. Rockauto is a good source. Kit should include water pump and all pulleys and tensioners. Yes, it’s important. Radiator should also be replaced periodically. Serpentine belt as well.

If you still haven't read it, that's all covered in here, I believe.

2nd reply in the thread has a full maintenance schedule of things to catch up on.

I think people buy these old trucks and don’t realize what they are getting in to. Maybe they’ve only ever owned newer cars and have never had to really work on anything. Could be legit questions. That’s why I always warn the ones looking for an FGT to only consider buying one if they are willing and able to work on them.
