Any regrets with 285/70/17?

    Pretty truck!

After 19 years mine could use a new paint job and have some moose dents removed. :(

Wait - do you still have your hypersilver set, @abcinv ? I'm still hunting for a spare. Saw a dude north OTP who had (4) for $500 recently, but I've been holding out for another $100-150 for (4) bare, or $250-350 for (4) with tires. Or a single with at least 25% tread for $50-75.

Had I known when I gave these away I would have hooked you up. A couple of Thanksgivings ago I gave all four to a member on here to get them gone. Don't think you were a member at the time.

I'll keep my eyes peeled but you being the finder of all things you'll probably find a set first...

I’m going to either 255/80 or 285/70s when I lift it. Anyone know if either or both of those will fit in the spare tire well? I’d like to have a matching spare.

Should fit with plenty of room to spare.

Both fit in spare tire well on AC. As for mounted fitment, I had 255/80-17 32.8" Cooper ST Maxx on FJ steelies, (same as stock Tundra 17×7.5 +15) without a spacer. Cleared UCA fine as I remember, might have rubbed frame a little.
    Gearing sucked with 3.9s.
Later I ran 285/70-17 32.8" Yoko MTs on FJs and combo required spacers.

Nice looking trucks. Do you happen to remember suspension details on either truck?

Rancho quicklift w/ ~1.5" front lift came on it, (terribly soft valving, don't recommend). Rear suspension was Archive Garage Ultimate package
Same truck, I got a southern bed (black), painted cab black. I sold it and missed it ever since. Might buy another 1st gen soon, such good trucks.

Keep seeing horror stories about those Ranchos blowing out the lower mount bushings within a couple thousand miles after install.

Yeah, you can actually find good info in a forum instead of the FB hamster wheel of daily questions
