    Looks good.

    No cutting, perfect.

I think someone should powdercoat the parts red and then install! Or can you order red??? Unfortunately cannot get these in Canada is what I am hearing...?

I’ve driven lots of vehicles and tow hooks really never crossed my mind. For those who have added the hooks do you plan to ride around with them hanging or bring the hooks out if needed?

I feel dumb asking this here but you all would know best, what is the major deciding factor where folks decide to get the hooks? I do not off road. If the truck needs a typical road tow they are not needed correct?

Typically, the tow truck should be able to find a point to pull the truck up on a flat bed. But people are lazy and they could hook a spot where they shouldn't. If you wreck and then need recovery, they are going to find any solid spot to clear the vehicle.

Not saying this as a dig to the 3rd gen, but look at the amount of trucks that had to get towed to the dealer for the engine grenading. They were able to hook them just fine.

^^^This. The issue would be if you get stuck and need a yank from the front. Usually, the front is lower than the pulling vehicle, therefore tearing up your plastic pieces on the front bumper (nowhere solid to hook out front, so has to go on a control arm or frame underneath). If you have no "plans" to get off the beaten path, then you should be fine without.

Thank you both. Wasn’t quite sure if/why I may need them. Based on the feedback I can save the money and put it towards larger cup holders, replacing the JBL, adding massaging seats, and the super useful molle panels lol

I'll say, if you get to a point where you have money burning a hole in your pocket, it would be one of those "piece of mind" mods. Especially since it's fairly inexpensive considering it's all OE parts.

Let’s be honest, we all got these recovery points so it gives the 2nd genners less ammo to talk crap on the 3rd gen. Plus these recovery points are much beefier than the 2nd gen!

If I have money burning a hole in my pocket I’m converting them to $1’s and donating to my local entertainers “college fund”. Tow hooks would be way down on my list. But also understandable why they are good to have. I’d need a beater that does some wheeling to justify the buy. Platinums seem to belong on pavement imho

better to have and not need than to need and not have. basically what drove me to getting them as I occasionally hunt/fish in some areas that are prone to getting stuck in mud/sand. I can use the mounts to help pull someone out or someone help me get out without ripping off the whole plastic front end

I decided to give the Toyota OEM Tow Hooks a go today. I read through this thread and it looked totally doable which it was. We did NOT remove the entire front end which led to having to trim off the 2 side tabs of the bumper cover that go under the mustache trim, but with 19 other clips it’s not going to miss 2 of them.

Took about an hour total with the help of my Race Ramps.

I need to find some smaller shackles, as these TRD ones are WAY too big. I bought the “Reno” ones another member here had posted but could not get the silver clevis pin through on the driver’s side hook. The pin hit the protrusion on the new bumper cover and would not go through unless flip 180 which would look ridiculous compared to the other side. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6QB8P3V?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

For those who are adding toe hooks to the front are you also adding recovery points in the rear? If the concept is -in case I get stuck off road- your not certain which side they would have access to.

seems like alot of work to change your front bumper and the look, to a bumper that has two hooks without shackles.
I actually think they are cool and look rugged when paired up with a truck that looks built for off road. Other then that they seem like truck jewelry

PSA if it makes any difference to people: Don't be fooled by the USA in the name. Made in China.
I own several bits by Rhino USA. Nothing wrong with their stuff. Just don't pay extra for the name thinking you're getting a made in USA product.
EXACT duplicates on AMZ under multiple different brand names, all about $15 less.

x2 on this. The Rhino stuff is decent. But if you are doing any serious recoveries please use a soft shackle.

For those with the TRD 3" lift, you could remove the sway bar drop bracket to use this kit. And moving the sway bar allows for bigger tires with no rubbing....and you could always put a "beefier" sway bar and end links from the TRD Pro on....just sayin lol
