Multiple beeps?

I like to keep the truck running when I go into a store. (In the winter or summer when it's hot) When I leave the truck to go in and I go to lock the truck with the key fab it gives out a multiple of beeps. Do the doors lock or not? I can't tell because I have the key fab on me and when I grab the handle it opens up, just wondering if the truck locks while the truck is running? Thanks

 

I do the same thing often I believe all the doors remain unlocked and it beeps stating the key is not in the truck. More of an alert I believe

 

I always shut it down, locked it then use the remote start to be in the safe side.

So since we are on the topic and I'll ask for a friend

What if one was to leave it running and you have the fob and someone jumps in and takes off,will the truck turn off when it gets out of range, and if so what's the distance and has anybody tried this scenario?

No idea what happens but try it by just leaving it running and walk down the street, see how far you get.

 

I know that someone can drive off without a fob. My wife did that and I had to hurry up and call her and told her not to park and shut the truck off.

 

It doesnt shut off if you drive off without the fob.

To leave it running for a store or whatever you need to physically lock it with the key in the door handle. Then unlock it the same way.

 

Try doing the three fingers on the front part of the door handle. That will lock all your doors.

It will give a warning that they fob is not present. You can drive till you run out of gas or until you turn it off. You can't start it if it is turned off.

 

At least if you shut it off, lock it, and restart it with the key fob;
The engine dies when you open the door, or it dies when you step on the brake to put it in gear, depending on your remote start.

 

Doesn't it shut off after a relatively short time if started by the FOB?

Hmmmm, I thought mine shut off after a fob start and was much less than that. Does the AC blow cold with a fob start? In case I have my doggies with me and they can stay in the truck.

 

I dont know, I idle very little. But if you sit and idle in park, my truck flashes that message at me, but I don’t use my fob or app to start either.

 

Remote start with the FOB or App shuts off after 10 minutes.
