Thanks for the advice. I made those changes this week and got my first trip in. Honestly I know I’m in the minority on this but going to turn the engine noise back on. Just felt like the truck sounded more noisy honestly. Funny because most of what I read here made me want to try without. Seat belt chimes was worth the effort however.

Has anyone had the engine noise come back? I recently cancelled the online connection through the toyota app. I noticed my truck sounded louder shortly after (to the point I actually took a peek at the cats under the truck thinking I might have been a victim of removal - everything looks good). I had borrowed someone's carista from the forum here a couple years ago and then paid it forward and passed the unit to someone else. I don't want to do the $10 for 30 days of access and cancel thing again unless I have to, but I'm pretty sure the engine noise is being pumped through my audio again. I cant even hear the turbos venting anymore which I kinda liked as I was punching the acceleration...

Luckily the seatbelt chime if not buckled is still turned off!

Hella, what would you say was different with towing? I did notice the truck would make a slight hum sound when pushing the accelerator. That was around 70-80 mph.

I’ll say this the truck felt like I could hear more road and real engine without ESE on. Felt like my platinum was a base model.

    what app are you using?

I thought Christa was the app needed to use with a device like this to access the ability to turn on/off features.

Carista is the company who built this app and the device, but app works with many wifi devices. There is a list of compatible devices on carista website but this one was not listed
I wanted to make sure it compatible, which XFun confirmed. Thank you.

Now as soon as i get my new tundra it will cost me only $30 to cancel the annoying seatbelt warning, i never buckle seatbelts, guilty as charged

I used Carista app with the veepeak dongle. Also a friend have the carista dongle and I try it and found I have same features as the veepeak.

that’s what I thought. What it all boils down to is licensing of the app. Many people have the dongle, at least I do. I actually have a Veepeak Bluetooth version.

Be sure to leave Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) on and turn Engine Sound Enhancement (ESE) off.

You mentioned your truck was more noisy with the ESE off, my point was to be sure you have the ANC turned on.

Thank you! I believe when I had the sub installed they disconnected the anc mics. It’s possible they still report but not sure. I understand how they counter the road noise though and see your advice.

I guess my experience was more hearing the V6 without the enhancement which was less desirable of a ride then having the ESE.

Already turned off engine sound, seatbelt chimes, updated blinkers….but just saw this one on the Carista website to “remember last state for Pre-Collision System PCS”. I manually turn this one off every time I get in the truck because I don’t want it to ever flash the BRAKE light on dash and auto apply brakes.

Going to toggle this setting to Yes.

It says remember last distance. Let us know if it remembers on/off state

Updated this setting from No to Yes.
“Pre-Collision System (PCS) driver aids: remember last state = YES”

Turned off PCS, drove the highway and turned truck off for 10 minutes. Restarted the truck and PCS was still turned off. It worked. Now I don’t have to manually turn off PCS each time I get in the truck.

Did a handful of errands this morning and had the truck on / off five times. PCS remains in the saved state of OFF. Nice not have to go through the menu and turn PCS off each time I get in the truck.

I have realized this when I turn it off when I go through the car wash. It’s always off unless I press to turn it back on.

Just curious, what is the reason to turn PCS off? I thought it was a positive feature unless I missed something.

PCS abruptly applies the brakes if you get close to a vehicle in front of you. I don’t care for the vehicle to take control of braking.

I wish Carista would also allow you to disable the auto-off engine function.

That can be done with a $30 cable. Works great, it defaults to off at each startup.
