What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Why is your truck getting the same MPG as my truck that weights like 500 extra pounds and has taller/wider tires than you?

I don't think my 03 can use em, plus it had em done by Toyota like 30k miles ago. Basically right before I bought it.

Yeah, I dunno, been asking myself the same thing for a long time now. The only thing that makes sense is "city driving". I always have at least 20% city driving. But even on the highway at steady speed, I've never been able to hit anything 17+. I think my best was 16.7mpg fully stock.

 

Realized today that I'm running my 265/75s at the same pressure as the stock 265/60s. Is this fine? They look fine and aren't wearing funky, but it's only been 5k miles.

 

i’ve run between 30-45psi and my tires have been fine. Even did 1000miles at 65psi to see how the 6112’s handled it. No troubles.

 

How did the 6112s do? I'll be buying a set sometime this spring.

 

A little rougher than the 37f/35r i usually run, but it handles rough & gravel roads just fine. The biggest difference was removing the sway bar. Truck still powerslides predictably, but it took a few tries learning the lean to get it smooth. The 6112’s valving means speedbumps and traintracks are smoother if you go over em a little faster. But i have no complaints, theres enough weight in/on my truck that i handle crowned intersections or misaligned expansion joints better than most new vehicles. But before the 6112’s i thought my shocks were worn out because it was so smooth, i was just used to the stiffer stuff under the titan & the solid acle under the jeep xj.

 

Yup. Probably should check mine. I eyeball filled at a QT last time and it's been almost 2 months since I've even checked.

 

I had the same issue; tapped mine and they thread in much more easily, but I also agree with above saying remove oil filter from engine bay/topside.

My cheap RockAuto driveshaft is fine below 80. Which is fine as I rarely go faster than 70 or 75, but once you get to 90+ it gets pretty bad.

Looks like my airbag/seatbelt light no longer turns on when the seatbelt is detached. I know the light works since it lights up when I turn the key over. I’m not sure if Toyota is one of the few manufacturers where the airbag won’t deploy if the seatbelt thinks it’s disconnected.

Should I be worried?

But you're probably right. It doesn't even have a tach. Too bad it's an auto. I always thought it was so ghetto that my manual Ford Ranger had no factory tach. The PO installed a sweet back glowing tach with a shift light. It was sloooo fast and the furious.

 

My seatbelt latch "press" button stays pushed in when the seatbelt is un-latched causing the seatbelt light to stay off all the time. When I latch my seatbelt in there are no issues or anything so I just let it be. My airbag light comes on when I cycle key so all good there.

 

My button stayed half stuck in.... I worked on it a while and was able to get the light to stick ON..... Unplugged the wire harness to it. Yet again another lesson learned to Not Fuck with shit that isn’t really broke.

 

Sure as shit is. I can see if now that I'm not half asleep sitting in the dark. It also has vinyl floors. I'd LOVE to have vinyl floors.

No tach, vinyl seat and floors. Someone probably threw those patricks on there.

 

Sometimes I wish I had vinyl flooring. Would be nice to just sweep and wipe it out. I guess that's why I have weathertech mats

Yup. the Vic has vinyl floors. I think I remember seeing it for sale on RA. I may check that.

I’ll bet it isn’t cheap unless they already have a pattern for it.
