I ordered that one from Amazon linked above that fills the dash void. Looks nice and seems well made. Install was easy. It doesn’t sit completely flush, but it’s uniform all the way around, and I suspect it’ll settle in some. It looks good. In a few short drives, it is not picky about phone location, toss her up there and it charges up, doesn’t move around. Will see how it does with heat or etc over time.

I am using that, I replaced the factory wireless charger with that one. The factory charger only had 1 coil on it, the one you linked has 3.

With the factory charger, I would always have issues where charging would start, then 30 seconds later it would stop... with the new one, it just works all the time.

How was the install? Did they have instructions or a video?

I found a YouTube on removing the center cons
I followed this video on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p0-j9Ea1OU to take apart my center console. I don't think the new charger from European Enterprises had any instructions with it - but I bought the "Qi Lite v2" version. After unscrewing the factory charger, which was 4 screws, I installed the new one which was just 3m adheasive. I removed the tape and mounted it to the back of the plastic where my phone would sit. I pressed the adhesive strips in pretty well and it seems like it will hold just fine, so far so good anyway.

    Just starting
FYI - I bought this and returned it before I saw your post. Yes, it fit well on top of the dash and looks very stock. However, it had some MAJOR issues that I called it defective and returned:
    1. Majorly overheated the phone, so much so that either a) I couldn't even touch the phone or put it in my pocket, or b) actually shut the phone down because it was too hot.
      • Before anyone asks, the phone was not in the sun (we were heading north so the roof shaded it), it was only 84 degrees outside and 74 degrees inside. This happened all 3 times I tried to use it.
    2. Didn't charge well enough to help. I have a wireless charger at home that gets me about 1% per minute. I was driving home (45 mins) and only got ~5% charge without using the phone. Perhaps the above overheating issue affected this too.
    3. You can't see the phone from the driver's seat. Shouldn't be a problem while driving (no distraction), but you couldn't even see if you got the phone in the correct location to start the charge, or even if the charger was turned on and working.
I can't recommend this one, but perhaps other users had better experiences.

I know this one from sleeoffroad.com is pretty expensive and keeps going out of stock, but has anyone installed it that can report back on your experience?

Yeah, I noticed it definitely does overheat the phone, even when starting from a cool garage; so it’s not the sun…. I took it out.

Was this plug and play if you already have the factory charger?

This was one of my first modifications, if not the first, I did to my truck after I bought it. My truck did not have a factory charger but my wife’s 2024 Venza did have one. Easy install and it has been working great for over 6000 miles (many extended highway trips using Google Maps and Spotify). It definitely works better than my wife’s factory charger. The only quirk is that you have to press the button to turn it on after every ignition key cycle. But, it has become second nature to turn it on as I place my phone on the charger.

Was it worth the cost and would I do it again? Yes and absolutely I would.

Put the apple charger where the factory charger would be used double stick tape and ran the cord into the console

The OEM one stinks. Turns on and off. Just bad overall.

How is this charger working? Does it actually charge up when you are using CarPlay or AA? Is it faster than OEM?

How do you like this unit now that it’s been another 7 months? I’ve read that 10W per side is slow on the charging with CarPlay or AA running?

It piggy tails from the 12v at the top of the dash. So it doesn’t display the Qi charger logo on the factory radio screen but I use CarPlay and it displays a charging battery there. The whole install was maybe 20 mins. Works great and charges well. Plus I could therotically swap back in the OEM and sell this if I really wanted to in the future.

Does your iPhone heat up when charging on this? The Tacoma Qi made it way to hot as well another car we had. Not good for the battery or phone.
