I personally don't know of any other brands that are similar but you really can't go wrong with rubber from Falken. Then take off like 30-40% lol

If you’re just gonna shred them, Achilles are used by a lot of drifters. They have predictable grip, look good and are inexpensive. Son had a set on his first stang before it got totaled.

 

I would say Kenda is best for life.

If you wanna do smokey boys for allllloonnnnggggg time. And they're not too bad for grip either. Obviously not the best but "give and take"

 

So I'm torn. $925.86 for a set of four Sumitomo from DT in town. Or I can drive 30 mins from my work to get those wheels and tires for $480.

I think nice 18's with a good offset is better than 20's.

I mean if the fitment won't be shit and you can realistically use 20's and still allow for some load I don't see why not.

20s are cheap due to their popularity. Most OEM full size trucks run 20s. 275/55/20 is a popular and extremely cheap option.

 

I think it depends on the size and brand too. I'm going to buy mom some new 235/55R20 Michelins, for her RX350 in the next month or so, and DT wants $272 a pop.

Also I'd like to add since your truck is more about go fast/handle better. WIDTH is more important than diameter. Why get some suck 18x10's or something outrageous and throw some 305's or something in there LOL

 

I already rub frame on full lock as is. If it weren't also my DD, I'd go wide in the rear. But I want to be able to do full rotations. Not that side to side BS

 

You can totally fit wider tires, but your wheels are sucked in due to the GX offset being what it is. How’s your bumper and inner fender clearance?

I don't see any adjustment bolts on these aftermarket headlights. Oh well I guess I'll wing it and see how they look on the road omw to work tonight

Did an Italian tune up. I was going to wash it, but DT called and said my tires showed up. Just finished up fucking with headlights and intake. It took away longer than it should, but that always how it goes. The driver headlight needed some massaging with a drill bit on the inner mount. The holes were way off for the studs, causing the headlight to have an ugly gap on the outside. The passenger headlight mount on the putter side kept popping out, so I gorilla glued it. Lol
I did fogure out there a hole for a Philips head to crank on the outside adjuster. The inside adjuster requires you to remove the inner mount from the headlights, if already mounted them to truck, then you can twist them.

I had to improvise to cut that hole for the intake. My hole saw wasn't meant for metal nor my hammer drill. So I tried my normal drill and it was too weak. So out came dad's big angle grinder. It was not precise due to its size and the area I was working on was a little cramped. But I made it work with the help of some tin-sheers/snips what ever the fuck you wanna call em... and channel locks. I only got a few small cuts on my hands and fingers. So I'd say it was a victory overall.

Just dropped off the truck at DT.

I like the black housings. Looks good. I just need to decide if I'm going to try to trim the DC TRD Pro grill or sell it. I really want to see the CoLights at night.

That's interesting that you found the headlamps to not fit well. They should be the same part number across both our years.

I think it's just old trucks and cheap parts. Maybe my head panel is slowly bowed. Who knows?
Someone made a thread about a week or two ago about aftermarket headlights not fitting right. I don't remember how he solved it, but I imagine he did the same thing I did. The passenger side marker light and headlight part that share holes for the plastic push tab thingy, was a bitch to get loned up too. But meh, I ain't worried about it. They look pretty good. I'll give em a nice restoration treatment sometime soon. I've always got an identical set of headlights and corners that Beau gave me at Merus. Still have the plastic film on the lenses. I decided to try yours first since they were used and I was going to have to mangle the reflector for the CoLights to fit.
I've still got my OEM 2006 headlights somewhere, and now the aftermarket chromes o just took off the T3. So three spare sets. I think I might experiment with the OEM ones, since they have the spot for the marker light inside the lense. A red LED on each, with the chrome painted black, and some retrofitted projectors, with Morimoto HIDs could be in my future. I'd just need to figure out what to do about a new lense, or try to refurbish one of the aftermarket ones maybe.

 

In hindsight, I should've just cut a big square with the angle grinder. I was trying to only cut as much as necessary. But admittedly, I'm new to working with metal. It didn't help that the coupler fought me the whole damn time, which how I got a few cuts and why I ended up mangling the metal even more.
