Pretty bummed out about my Auto Anything experience. I ordered the BAK Revolver X2 on 9/23, did the chat box haggle and got a pretty good deal. It showed up at my door on 10/3 but there wasn't any hardware in the box. There also weren't any instructions or the weather stripping - I only received the rails and the actual cover. I called Auto Anything to let them know and they might (definitely) have the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. They are completely helpless. After calling 5 times I got pretty pissed and demanded to talk to " a manager." It took me 30 minutes on the phone but they finally got a hold of BAK to send me my missing pieces since they don't actually stock any of it. I finally got the hardware in the mail today (10/11 - eighteen days after I ordered the thing!!!) Still no instructions or weather sealing! My question for the guys who have these is what thickness weather stripping they got and do you think I would be okay using something from Home Depot/Fleet Farm? I don't really want to wait another two weeks for these dolts to ship it out to me. Thanks for any help. Also does anyone have the instructions laying around or know of any links to install?

The weatherstrip was pretty thin if I recall. I can try and look and snap a pic tomorrow.
Sorry to hear about your poor experience. I got my bak x2 from them too and my purchase went well.

Haha awesome. Just found a PDF of the instructions, I'm still missing the C-clamps, the strap assembly clamps, the D shaped cab bumpers, and the bulk head seals. I guess, nevermind about just buying some weather stripping at the store. You pay close to $1,000 for one of these, you think they could get all the shit in the box....

It was about a year ago, so I'm not 100% sure. But it would certainly explain why you're missing so many parts. I do remember one thing, that thing is heavy.

I won't know for sure until I actually get all the pieces to install mine, but I believe that the answer to your question is yes and no. You can roll it up half way to get stuff out or whatever, but if you wanted it to stay half way rolled up and drive around, it will either roll up more or un-roll and that it will only be snapped in place in the completely open or completely closed positions. Will know for sure if I ever get the parts

When all else fails YouTube University is there for you ;) it appears you have to roll it all the way up in the bed to secure it. No securing halfway. You may learn more by calling the manufacture.

Happen to see this review on how snow and cold can effect the RevolverX2. Something to consider if you live in snow country.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of deal did you get on the revolver?

Man I hate getting a new truck part and not having all the necessary hardware/correct item. Have you tried reaching out to BAK yourself? That's usually the route I go when dealing with a company like AutoAnything....I bet they would take care of you.

The cover needs to be either rolled up to the front and secured or rolled out flat and secured. No in between as far as driving with it on.
I have not had issues with mine in the winter and we get a lot of snow and it gets cold here in CT. My guess is the one in the video has some ice somewhere on the track.

I may have gotten all your hardware:notsure:. I ordered a cover right around the same time and got two full sets of brackets, bolts, weather stripping, etc. Was wondering why I had so many left over parts after install.

The kits came with 2 types of weather stripping, and the instructions state to use the thicker stuff if you don't have a drop in bed liner, the thin stuff if you do. I'm away from home until tomorrow morning, so I can't measure exactly, but if I had to guess, the thicker weather strip was probably 3/8". Standard stuff you'd get from any big box home improvement store.

    Good luck with your install.

I deal with BAK weekly and have never had an X2 come in 2 boxes. The rails and cover come packaged in one box (wish I'd have seen this sooner as I installed one this morning and could've taken a pic) along with the hardware kit in a red plastic bag. I would touch base with BAK on this one to get a hardware kit and also to have them run the serial number just to make sure that the cover you have wasn't a warrantied cover. The folks at BAK are easy to deal with and I'm sure theyd get you taken care of.

A little of this and a little of that.

I bought one with missing parts as well I got some rubber foam from Home Depot it’s ⅜” wide by 5/16” thick. I also got the neoprene washers, lock washers, and hand tightening wing nuts with bolts for it as well.

If you get this you should be able to install at least while you wait for your straps and rubber window guards.

Just for reference this is the two weather seals from BAK. The thicker of the two is 3/8".20171012_131407.jpg

I didn’t get seals with mine but what I showed worked perfectly on my truck. I put two down(side by side) so your thicker one should be perfect. Did you get directions yet?
