Don’t need much tech savvy to plug in the CarLinkIt. :p

You are correct sir, he was using Bluetooth and I thought he was using wireless CarPlay. My search continues……

I'm doing a 2020 headunit swap and I tried plugging in an apple usb c cable into an adapter but the truck wont connect my iphone 16. If I reset the headunit my phone gets connected and charges for 2 seconds then unlinks. Anyone get the oem headunit usb port to work with usb c?

There is a harness to adapted the USB-A to go to the 2020+ head unit. I had a hell of a time getting my old phone to work. I added some shielding to that adapter harness and have to use a good sourced USB cable now. I've also upgraded to a iPhone 16, but no issue that wasn't resolved with doing a software update to the HU.

Maybe I'm not understanding what you have going on.

I have my apple USB C cable plugged into this adapter and then thats plugged into the trucks usb port underneath the climate controls. It only connects my phone to radio for 2 seconds if I reset the radio and then it disconnects.

Ah ok. Have you tried just using a USB-A to USB-C cable? That's what I'm using with no issue.

Did you get one off Amazon? Don’t know if Apple makes that combo.

Hey everyone, I want to do this conversion but I want it done right. I have a 2016 Non-JBL OEM unit currently and would like to go to the 2020/21 Apple Carplay Unit. What is the correct part number for that HU so that I don't waste money. I've already emailed autoharness about what I need but any pointers/ additional information would be greatly appreciated.

This looks to be the right one.

    **Update**
Got my harness from auto harness.com. Sourced me a headunit from eBay for just under $500. Installed this evening.
