My tundra is 2014 with 4.6L. Thinking of a travel trailer and was wondering if anyone on the forum has the small block and used it for towing.

I think the max rating for your truck is 6800 pounds, unless you have a 4x4. Then it would be lower. Did your truck come with a tow package?

It came with a tow hitch and it is a 4x4x. I know I would need to put in a transmission cooler. Not sure about a larger capacity oil sump. It was the "work truck Pkg". Wanted the 5.7 but that's a whole pkg. and I couldn't afford a $5k bump up. Ended up losing my job 6 months after I bought the truck. Had to sell my 71' Vette that I bought new. The car only had 44k original miles. It hurt but it was that or loose the Tundra. That wouldn't have been smart.

Bummer man... I probably would have let the tundra roll into a lake first... Ha, jk. Work package huh? I'm not sure what is included with that. Have you checked to see if you have a transmission cooler? Since you are 4x4 I believe the rating is 6500 pounds. One thing to check is what class hitch you have. If they matched the trucks rating, you won't want to get past that 6500 mark. I'm not sure what's changed from previous years to now for the 4.6, but i bet its the standards of how they rate the truck. I would imagine nothing has physically changed from then to now.

Also, does your truck come with a tow/haul button?
