Looking for the expert answer. I have a stock Tundra TRD Pro. I want to purchase new aggressive tires. I'm wanting to get the biggest I can fit under it now without any mods and on stock rims. I'm going to lift in future but for now just want new tires. Willing to add spacers if needed.

Just a quick question but why buy the Pro if your going to do a lift or spacers and mess up the Pro's TRD suspension?

I'm going with 285/65 18's but I know others have done larger but some have an aftermarket front bumper that gives extra room for the larger tire not to rub and room for 295/70 18

Why would I not get the TRD PRO?!? It has a lot more than the 2inch lift to offer. The sticker on my base model '08 I bought new was $39k and this one is $41k. In 7 years they difference is $2k but with all the upgrades it is cheaper.

Well I'm not sure about lifting until after I see the stance it gets from bigger tires. I may or may not. I want 305/65r18.

I'm aware it has more than the 2" lift with TRD springs and Billstein reservoir shocks and it also has the TRD Pro specific interior, the front skid plate, TRD Pro grill and headlights, TRD Pro stamped bed, TRD dual exhaust, and TRD Pro wheels. That's why I bought one but a BIG part of the Pro package is the suspension.

To each their own...it was only a question

Yeah they are sweet and the ride is great. I had 285s on my '08 with the 3&1 leveling kit. It was about 1" to 2" lower than I wanted but it worked. I just like the looks of a lifted truck. I'm hoping that I can get away with putting 305s on it. If not I'll go with 295 like you stated. I just wish someone could give e a defiante answer.
Thanks for your info it's a starting point and may be the finishing.

You can stuff 35's if you are willing to cut some plastic and skid plate.

Have you put done this or seen it done? Does it rub when you hit a hard bump or only where need trimmed?

Yes I've seen it done. Hell there's a guy that posted in this thread.
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/off...re-setups-pics-and-info.95/page-10#post-31069

Hitting a bump isn't the problem. It's turning and rubbing skids and plastics. All of which are an easy fix with a BFH and a grinder.

Good deal. I work in the gas field and swinging a 10 lb BFH is an everyday job. Lol. I was hoping a little fabrication was all that would be needed.

    Thanks for the input.

If you decide to run wheel spacers, you may need to do a little bit of fabrication. My wheels are +18 offset so they are pushed out farther than stock. I was ever so slightly rubbing my cab mount on...."aggressive" turns. You can do a cab mount chop to gain clearance tho:

Hey guys, so I gave been looking at a lot of pics of your trucks and different offsets. My issue is you see my truck below, I have 305/55/r20 on Racelines. I want to go for some matte black wheels and get a more aggressive stance. I know pics are bad but you can see I'm tucked still. Do you guys think that a -12 offset would accomplish this or do I need to go to a -24. I don't want to be way out but enough. Was thinking Jesters 20x9 -12?
    Thanks

Negative offset? That will be very aggressive and you will probably have a lot to trim. A +12 would probably be perfect with your fender flares. Your tires will probably stick out a bit still with that offset.

Skinny 35s.... Stock wheel offsets with too wide of a tire may rub your upper control arm.

So positive offset would still give me an outside fender wall stance? Had trouble finding rims with negative so that would be better for my wallet. Found a good deal on matte black Racelines with 0+ would you think that's too much with the 305/55's?

I just looked at this link. I can't believe those tires didn't rub the uca. There was no way I could have run a 35 before I got different rims.

Zeros are going to push past the flare and would look good, but you will most likely rub the body mount. Which is fine if you don't mind chopping it.

Here is a pic of +12 jesters with 305 55s. +10 Or +12 will most likely be perfect.

Sweet this looks perfect. Crazy though looking at custom offset website tundras with -12 & -24 offset don't look that far out but probably just the picture. Glad I didn't order -12 now.
    Thanks again bro

Just for another comparison, 20x9 +18 offset 305/55/20. No rubbing or trimming. Anything closer to 0 offset it definitely would. I probably have 1/4 inch max between tire and plastic fender

Love the setup you have, silly question as I feel I should know this, but being that yours is a 4x4 doesn't affect the natural stance right?

I did not know if the setup was wider naturally on a 4x4 but figured it out

    Ok Gang,

I did a search and not even sure where to look from the results. I'm new to my tundra and I'm trying to keep it somewhat simple (for now ;) ) I'm looking at the XD monster rims with either +35 or +18 offset in an 18" rim. I'm keeping my stock tires for now (275/65/18). I have a 2014 with TRD package. No brake upgrades. I do have fender flares and I'd like to fill them. Will the +18 rims fit without any trimming or is it better to go with the +35?

    Thanks!!!

With your flares, +18 is better. It still may not come out even with the flares with stock tires though. Once you get a wider tire it will though.

With the stock tire, you probably won't have to trim, but depending on the size tire you go with afterwards, there may be trimming involved.

Thread is super helpful but I'm new to the options with wheels and tires on pick-ups. I have a 2016 Tundra with the TRD package. I was planning on keeping the stock wheels but putting on 275/70/18r tires on with a leveling kit. If I leave the stock wheels would getting wheel spacers from spidertrax make for a more aggressive stance. They only seem to make them in a 1.25" width. Don't know if it would look good, cause any other issues, etc. Any advice would be great, thanks in advance.

I have 1.25 wheel spacers on mine much better stance. Check out my build thread. Don't go smaller than 1.25 or you will run into issues with the lugs not fitting.
