Strange location of coolant leak, pic attached

    Hey all,
    New to the forum but it's time to be a part of it. I have a 2000 4.7 and it has developed a strange location coolant leak. It drips down mid engine behind the crossmember when the engine is at temp. I topped it off and ran the motor while under it and at temp she started dripping behind the AC compressor from a random bolt above the oil filter- random to me since I have never had this motor apart. She has 250K miles on her but still runs great. I am several owners down the line so I do know the timing belt has been changed but no record of water pump. I know it has a weep hole. The crossover pipes under the intake do not look like they are leaking. May scope under there to be sure.
    Any thought, ideas or comedic comments welcomed

    I thought the figure 8 gasket contains oil not coolant.

    It does, but the cooler body itself has coolant running thru it. You can see the origin/exit by tracing the rubber lines going to the bibs on the round base the oil filter screws into.

    I wasn't thinking that was it, because Mike said it appeared to be coming from behind the A/C compressor.

    My coolant leak was nowhere near where I thought it was... My leak ended up being the o-ring behind the thermostat to the (I think it's called the) crossover pipe that goes through the valley in the top of the engine. The leaking coolant worked its way down a path that I wouldn't have imagined. The only way I found it was while everything was apart to change the timing belt and I could see the path of the pink residue.

    Interesting thing is I see residue under the intake but it was dry. When the motor came up to temp it was leaking or dripping from the bolt in the pic. When I take it apart I'll post what I find.

    I mean, the rubber line going left-to-right under your blue arrow is a coolant line for the oil filter housing. There's another bib on that filter housing base with another line off it.

    But the bolt you're pointing to, I believe, is screwing something into the bracket and/or housing of the A/C compressor/clutch. I can't think of anything there or just above it. From a depth perspective it's difficult to tell how much deeper in that fastener head is that you're pointing to.

    I realize it's tough to shoot in that spot. Hell, I went out to my 2006 and tried to find that specific fastener and I can't seem to put my finger on it so I can look upstream. Dried crusty pink coolant (you should be running pink SLLC) is not uncommon to find in our trucks. Wet ... not normal.
