    Just starting.
Possibly, power seats lift the front to give the driver more room. I have long legs and driving my LC100 was not as comfortable before I installed Seat Jackers. Adding extra lift to the front helps to keep my knee from slamming the CSL switch. I have a 99 Tacoma with a manual seat that is painful to drive without seat jackers. Seat Jackers are not for everybody. There are versions that lift the rear mounts when someone needs a lift for better vision over the hood.

I keep a stick of Gummi Pflege in the workshop. The ingredients must be very different. I can feel ShinEtsu give a warming sensation when I apply it. I've been using ShinEtsu since 2010 on Japanese vehicles with good success. The key is to use some product to treat dry seals as we move into a harsh winter. I can tell you it does keep doors from sticking when it snows and freezes.

Grandpa has short legs, so the left side of my drivers seat is a little more collapsed than the right, i just keep my wallet on the left to compensate. Still more comfortable than most new vehicles with fresh foam. But i’m 5’10” & my truck has 150k of ass + extra hours from grandpa sitting and working sudoku while grandma went shopping. Since i pulled my swaybar, i do want a bit more bolstering, but if i slow a bit before corners, its not a need.

You don't have to pop either ball joint to change the coil assembly. Just unbolt the four LBJ bolts and shift the entire spindle to the front of the truck a few inches. You'll have plenty of room to get the old assemblies out and the new ones in.

I've never done.any of that fluff when changing coil assemblies. No need unless you're swapping spindles.
It would've been easier had I removed the sway bar links though.

Recent discussion on this. It's a resurrection of an older thread asking about the 3.4, but as always, we wander...

IMG_8927.jpg Finished up front struts. Will upload a pic tomorrow since it was too dark outside / too unlevel in garage. I am guessing any possible lift from the suspension though is counteracted by the 150+ pounds of metal bumper I bolted on the front. Looks exactly the same to me!

Power steering flush and also finished doing the parking brake bit on the stereo. For the stereo, ended up just doing a bypass for the parking brake switch. Just way easier than fiddling around trying to find the right color wire down there in the kick panel.

Power steering flush was ridiculously easy. I spent more time making sure I had all the tools back on the bench before closing the hood. Could not find the pick I used to loosen the return hose before I removed it. Ended up finding it had fallen to the left of the air filter box. Thank goodness I always make sure I have all my tools accounted for!

Which made me think of something. Who here has also has started to back out of the driveway the next morning and gone 'crap, forgot to remove the wheel chocks'? :)

I don't think anyone can beat Bosch wipers. I mentioned before that my last set lasted over 6 years. Ridiculous. My current set is almost 3 years old.

Don't you park in a garage?
Wipers last me a year tops, because I park outside and have to use them often because I drive a lot at night and early morning. Coastal Texas is humid AF.
When I worked at the plants, they'd last 6 months. I think the salty air from the water and the chems in the air would ruin em faster.

Wipers last me a year max too. Texas heat may have some bearing. I've done Bosch, Rain-X, OEM Subaru etc. They last about the same. I don't buy off brands as wipers are really not that expensive anyway. I put Rain-X on the Tundra as those were the ones that would 'arrive tomorrow'. They are fine, but only been on there a month.

Repackaged Bosch Icon. If you'll buy them from the dealer, you can get a 12month warranty. I will keep my receipt and then swap them out under a parts warranty ticket every 11months. I also do Bosch Icon on the Tundra.

Yes I'm sure it helps that I park inside though there was a year during that 6 year stretch where I parked outside. Our heat isn't as intense as Texas either.

I also don't really know how old they were. They were on the truck when I bought it in January 2016. I finally replaced them in January 2022. They were still working, but getting noisy.

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
One thing that has extended my wipers life a year or more is treating them with 303 a couple times a year. It even rejuvenated an old pair and I got almost another year out if them. Calibrate result/MI weather.
Edit: if I had a dime for every time I meat fist fat fingered the "i" when I wanted an "O" I could have a mint FGT...

Rain-x wipers have beefier springs than normal. The bosch has a large single spring, instead of the doubles most have.

Anyone remember the double wipers on minitrucks (maybe it was lowriders)?

not this, but whole wiper pairs on each arm.

Really? i would have expected you to gain at least an inch, considering it lifted mine about 2.5 inches. Although mine is 2WD and doesn't have a bumper.

I’m also a schmuck and didn’t measure before and after (tape measure only disappoints me and the ladies) so am kind of just eyeballing it. It looks roughly the same as before to me. I’m actually not sad about it because now I can wait to do something on the rears, haha. Was expecting a Carolina squat on her. Burned up a lot of marital capital with a week working in the garage while kids were off school….gonna need to get that account balance up before I start talking about leaf springs and whatnot, to say nothing of actually installing them. :)

I do notice it goes over speed bumps a little more smoothly though. Today is first time driving it so I will report back after a few days.

I did this in high school driving down a highway at 50-60mph, and a bee or something tagged me in the lower forehead, right above the bridge of my nose. I dunno if it stung me or what, but there was a tiny red dot at the epicenter of the impact, and my head swole up so damn big it was ridiculous. I'm incredibly happy digital cameras didn't exist back then, because the picture would've surely become a meme.

I absolutely wouldn't have been able to get my coilovers in if I hadn't popped one joint. If you're not doing more than 1" - 1½" lift, maybe not, but with 2½", they absolutely wouldn't have fit.

This is the way! I put Icons on everything.

    @KNABORES beat me to it.

Having those things and those stupid ass Bad Boy Club stickers were so cliché bitd. (in my locality, it meant the drive was more douché than cliché, it was always the prep/jock/roper dickheads who rocked them)

Alright guys. Done with the lift and wheels and tires. Below is the after pic. I did a big write up on the build thread and you can see before and after pics and stuff there. https://www.tundras.com/threads/2004-dc-4-7-4wd-build-log.128950/. I’ll post the measurements on the measure up thread soon. I’m still waiting on the 5160s, but that really shouldn’t change height or anything, just ride. I love it, I’m super pumped with how it turned out.
