oil change with 5w-20 because I had a bunch left over from who knows when. Hoping its the last one before the new engine goes in. Decided to send this in for analysis as well...just because I have so many samples so far and Im curious

At 22K miles the truck has a couple of rattles. After 1.5 years I've got a fair amount of stuff stowed in truck. Tools, hitch receivers and the usual. I took everything out from front to back and side to side. All the junk out of the glove box and rear seat bins. Wipe down, throw away what's not needed and repack. Rattles are gone. Feels better to drive.

Picked up a set of Toyota flat oval running boards. Super easy to install and liking the new look.

Nytop titanium exhaust dump. Much needed clearance on trails. Install took 5 minutes with a 3” lift and 37’s so no need to lift with a jack, lowered the spare a bit. No sound change on idle and rev, will drive later and see.

Installed the Pro Grille. My son helped with the process. It was great having his help wrenching. Light bar to come in the future.

Separating the bumper extensions in this area is what has me the most apprehensive. It seems this is where most folks break something.

Take your time. Use a soft removal tool, and pull out towards you. I think people struggle with pulling out and bending the plastic instead of trying to push out the plastic in larger sections. Not sure that makes sense, but push out towards you.

If you’ve ever worked on a sport bike (motorcycle), if feels like removing the fairings off the frame.

Can you reach the backside behind the fender liner to help push it out?

Once you get one clip undone, you can squeeze your fingers through. Thinking about the process, though intimidated to start pushing out the plastic, it was one of the easier parts of the process for me.

To add to what BlackNBlu said, true the Pro is related to Limited, the Platinum/1794/Capstone get the front/back cup holder with the flippy lid/cover to make it look fancy when cup holders are not in use. I changed mine out to the side/side with the extra larger cup holder from AJT Designs. This gained the extra space in the front by the wireless phone charger. I didn't care for the flippy lid which only aided in losing small things or paper receipts.

Do you have a finished picture of the wire taps? Did you split the B-W wire for a ground tap? I’m surprised the green wire is not the ground.

Do you know if there are LED lights that fit in those two large cutouts? I have been looking a bit and did not see that BA sells lights that fit those cutouts. Bumper looks great and I am thinking that will be one of my next moves to add to the truck.

the front is ok looking but i agree - i'd want something in those spaces , cut outs in odd shapes and fencing/giant logos are a turn off from me.... but this company got the rear bumper right !

I don’t think there is any, definitely no support in the bumper shell. I can reach the winch clutch from there, I haven't tried over and behind the grille to see if the clutch is reachable, I use a relocation control to move the winch control on top of the fuse box, since there was very little space in there.

defintely try and get your fingers under there and work slowly, I did it in 30 degree weather so things were stiff, i did end up breaking a few plastic clips, but it re-installs just fine.

Yes, it's a little hard to pry that plastic apart and I did break one plastic support piece - everything still went back together tight and snug, but I've ordered the support piece and will replace once I get the time to pull the bumper back off. Now that I've done it once, it will be way easier the second time now that I've seen how all the clips attach and am not doing it blindly. I installed mine with the RAVE marker lights just to see how they do. they are quality lights IMO and bright - but as others have mentioned, I think a little brighter than I want so I'm going to replace with OEM and replace the plastic support piece in a few weeks once I get the parts in.

I really wish they just offered this as a standard option on all trims, at least Limited and above, seems reasonable. Entirely changes the look of the truck.

In looking at all the pictures I can find online of that piece you broke, it looks like the painted bumper extensions have flat tabs that slide into corresponding slots on the piece you broke (black plastic piece behind it). There looks the be small tabs that are supposed to be depressed to let it slide apart but there is no way to get behind there to access it. You literally just have to pull it apart by force and hope nothing breaks in the process. I HATE stuff like this!

Yep, while I think it'll be easier for me to remove out of muscle memory the 2nd time, I will take my time knowing I don't have to remove dozens of screws and clips to EVER remove the grill insert from the surrounding pieces again lol. That was was so time consuming and it's not like Toyota doesn't know this is a very very popular mod... why they make it so unnecessarily over engineered!?
