General Supercharger Thread

I've thought about buying a lathe and a mill for my garage.
I have a four car garage and it's just the Wife and I and the boat.
She parks under the porte cochere and I park in the double deep garage behind the boat.
The former owner had a huge RV that he parked in the double deep garage.
The Wife and I had been house shopping for about a year and the second I saw that garage It was Sold American!!!
Not having to pay for storage of the boat and camper was a big deal!!!
And it being a gated community made it even better!!

I still haven't even gotten an ETA from Whipple yet.

Haha yeah I'm sure you'll be the second to know when there is any activity/movement on the kit. Different animal, but I ordered my Mag2650 from SCOL around mid SEPT of 2023 and received maybe 5 weeks later. I had been told 8 weeks so it seemed like it was quick when I had a longer expectation. Not sure what you were told from the day of ordering, but hopefully they under promised and over deliver!

 

Nearly identical situation to me. Original owner stored fire engines for the fire department? We looked for a house for a long time and never put in an offer on anything, this one popped up and we were the first on it and gave an offer immediately!

 

Yeah...when you see something that fits your needs ya gotta jump on it before someone like you see's the same benefit!!
While we paid well over 600K for the place I'm Happy with it!!
I figure when we move to the boonies when the Wife retires someone like me will see the same benefits I saw in the place.

 

ive got the maggy 2650 with sniv smaller pulley and ott tune, i love the shit out of it

 

I enlarged the inner fender opening for colder air to the intake, and made a mesh panel to keep critters out. The opening is 10" wide, ~4.5" tall at the back and ~6" tall at the front, the panel is 1/2" wider on each side and 1/2" taller and secured with M5 screws in nutserts. This will allow the entire ProSpeed box to be open to the inner fender, and get the coldest air possible.

That's sweet. I still have to do that with stock box. Open up the air accelerator to submit. Make a fiberglass shell between the 2.
Definitely need a screen for critters. Last spring I had moss inside. Chipmunks wanted to make a den in there.

 

I haven't had trouble with rodents, but figured it was cheap insurance and shouldn't block too much flow.

@armyoffoo have had any issue with engine oil warmup with the stock oil cooler removed? I was planning on removing the piping since I have the air cooler installed.

 

I was told 2/26 for my Whipple, so hopefully ours arrive sometime around then or sooner!

 

They chewed my windshield defrost wires on both highlander and Tundra. I helped my neighbor with the feral/barn cat adoption. Keeping the population under control!

 

No issues since deleting the stock cooler, still haven't installed the air cooler, running 5w-30.

 

Ok, that was next on my list.

As I'm sure this will incite a great™ debate, hopefully will have a new-to-me 2019 non-SC'd truck in my driveway in 8 days. What supercharger kit is best and why? Or put another way: if money wasn't an object and you had to buy another one today what kit would you buy and why?

 

The last couple of days posts have been primarily discussing just that.

in case you need a summary recap, we consentaneously agreed that Whipple is the most bestester and the only commonsensical choice….

 

And what should I put there?

Magnuson 1900: The GOAT that the fastest trucks run. The actually cool ones say TRD.
Magnuson 2650: Ugly brother shaped like a brick, these people are scared to increase boost
Harrop 2650: Shaped like a whale sharks guts, these people think it's somehow attractive and are convinced 2.5mm is a lot
Whipple: Eats couplers and has alignment issues, but has cool colors to show how special and good it is
