Hey what's up guys. Wanted to talk through a couple things and get some opinions.

So, long story short, I bought a big lot of random parts (80 Series manual swap parts, King 3.0s, Magnuson 1900, bunch of misc stuff) from a guy I know through Land Cruisers who was getting rid of his 80 and his Tundra - so I thought why not.

First, I know I need to do more research and go through the Magnuson installation guide to figure out exactly what I need so I apologize in advance. But would you guys mind looking at these pics and tell me what it looks like I'm missing?

    I know I need:
    - Fuel Pump
    - Injectors
    - Tune
    - Airbox (I got the top half of the Magnuson airbox but he couldn't find the lower part.)
    - Sniv pulley since I live at 6K
    - Valve body
    - Gauges

    Anything else?

And second, I'm considering just selling the supercharger and buying a 2650 so I can start fresh. My truck only has 14K miles on it and he told me this supercharger has 30K on it. I know that's a little OCD but I figure if anyone would understand, you guys would. haha. Also it seems like the 2650 is just a better package for what I'd like to do in the long run.
If I did sell it, do you feel like $4K is a fair price for what I have here?

    Thanks!

Won't that top go on the stock bottom?

    Or is that pre '14?

You can trade in the 1900 for the 2650, MIGHT be cheaper than selling them buying the 2650.

I love the 1900, but would go with the 2650 if given the option no doubt.

The wiring loom with relay and inline fuse is for the intercooler pump. Zzperformance has a good deal on intercooler pump.

If the airbox don't fit. I'd be interested in buying it. Need to fab up my 5 inch intake...

Ok here is where I am and it seems to run very well.
Low end shifts are smoother. I found that pre 100F trans temp, the trans shifted a little smoother than when it was warmed up and my trans table took over. This lead me to believe that the table I made might be too aggressive and indicated I should dial back the numbers a bit. I tried to follow some of my driving habits, as well as the torque curve, and to make the table numbers match what I think the motor is producing at WOT (or near WOT). I may still lower the high end numbers just to see how everything does, but right now it's shifting quick and effortless with high load in the 5k-6k range. Downshifts are firm and catch right away when you hammer the throttle. TC locks up right away and just launches you. I might be splitting hairs at this point, but I might as well do some trial and error and find out what gets it perfect from the tuning side. I know the springs are stiffer so it's never going to shift exactly like OEM, and that's likely a good thing because the OEM one bit the dust. I'm going to drive it like this and see if the ECU likes the line pressures a bit more and keeps 2757 out of the picture.

edit - pre 100F trans pan temp should keep the trans shifting in cold shift parameters, that is why I mentioned that specific temp.

damn, i added the wrong screenshot. Just updated it

Yeah I agree, I just know the 4l80e is tried and true and more reputable builders out there. After speaking with Rossler the trans is good for up up 2000 whp :burnrubber::yay:. I also have discussed with other notable Toyota trans builders that mainly work with the Supra, new corolla and bmw's just to give you an idea. I've been researching and reaching out to other avenues for us all. Even with less gears the 4l80e drive ability when not in WOT should be fine. I'm also planning on spicing up the power a bit while it's a PS.

Glad your happy with everything, Pat at Level 10 with make everything right for you and wants to be involved with the tuning. Him and Chris at PS worked back and fourth tuning a pulling a lot power/torque managment at the shifts. I'm sure Chris wouldn't mind assisting if he isn't busy with some suggestions or to look over everything. What's the power level you at currently?

Yea Pat seems great and is very willing to bounce ideas back and forth and try things. Would be great to get Chris’s feedback.

I’m not sure what exact power looks like, but I’m around 12 psi with the 2650 so I’d say around 600 wheel. Maybe a hair more. Have a dyno session this spring.

I'm actually more tempted by this 4.6 for $1944, I could buy it just to measure shit so I can figure out how to fit a Tundra supercharger on my wife's GX :D

These used engines are a steal. Prospeed charges $5k for a sourced donor block. Just saying.

And I can't agree more about how expensive this site is becoming. Though I do think I might have explained myself into a "MGMT approved" spend on an upgraded VB. Wasn't expecting that.

I figure nowdays 70k+ on a new truck, easily 80-90k for one that I'd really want. Or keep the one that's paid off and give it the beans. It seems reliability across all brands now days are hit and miss. I guess you'd have a warranty though but at the cost of a high payment. I'll save payment money for mods or unexpected failures. If I was rich then I pay cash for a raptor r lol.

Coming from a 3rd gen it was nice but not 66k nice. Not to mention the nanny things drove me crazy. I'm middle-aged and I remember when cars would let you do things like creep forward with the door open. Or say I want to open my door to tip the car wash dryer kid, well it'd freak out if I didn't remember to shift into park when I tried to open the door. Many other little things like that which don't seem like a big deal but over time... Half the gadgets it had I didn't even use besides once in the first month showing friends.

I'll go from a $1250 payment to a $350 payment. Simpler is kind of nicer, in my opinion but maybe that's part of getting older, I'm no longer dazzled as much by the new things. I just want it to work.

Edit and oh forget about trying to fix things on the new truck when it does break or have odd problems. It's half a computer these days and Toyota isn't going to give end-users their diagnostic software. Plus I really dislike the chin/lower jutting out front bumper of the 3rd gen. A nice 2.5 gen looks great to me.

I get it some guys want the lastest and greatest, something that is capable and has a warranty. And nothing wrong with that at all. I'd rather build up something that has overall been extremely reliable in stock form for me. Granted throwing a big ass supercharger on a stock motor and trans with heavy ass tires and ripping WOT pulls with a small pulley and a self tune isn't exactly the best recipe for reliability....but hey it's fun ass as hell and something gonna break eventually

Yeah but I feel like if you SC'd say a GM, Ford, or Ram platform it'd break MUCH faster. I also really like the low end torque and no turbo lag on superchargers. And it's more reliable then a modern diesel w/emissions junk.
