Thanks for the re-education! It makes sense now why IPT keeps pressure as per Toyota. He's thinking that your tuned with a SC so should have the changes already made.i noticed @carn_dogg didn't have access to the line pressures like mine. Good info. Thanks again!

Both DAP and Dan (4firemandan) didn’t do anything at all to my trans tune as far as I can tell. (Not even the TRD changes). I asked Dan about it, he said he never really looked into the trans tuning too much as it always seemed to open a can of worms. You make a change in one setting and it affects a bunch of others and muddies the water quickly. I’d love to know if I’m missing out on something. I truly don’t have any complaints for my transmission behavior at the moment though. I do find it interesting that the built trans wouldn’t operate correctly unless the trans tuning was just so, unless I misinterpreted that and the issue was just from low fluid level.

From my limited understanding back when I had my Silverado SS SC and my Trailblazer SS on nitrious, I believe they use to delete TQ management. From my understanding, TQ management made the clutches slip causing wear on them. Now the 4L65/70E are no were as advanced as our trans I think so maybe it worked for those trans.

That's what I thought was weird too, I've tuned a couple trucks with built trans (from IPT) and never did anything besides my usual and there was never any issues. I don't understand why Carn Dogs had so much issue with the tune. And the revision between him driving home and the new revision from Level 10 didn't really change that much besides like <20% throttle settings. It's weird that that small change did so much to make it throw CELs and go into limp mode and everything else.

Viktor did that on some tunes and I carry that over specifically when people want it, set torque management to zero at high rpm/torque so it's not doing anything if you're at a WOT shift. I've never had issue with it, but nowadays I just run the TRD values (which aren't like that) just since they seem reliable which is my main goal. As Silver17 pointed out above, the transmission stuff is a bit magical and I don't want to step outside the lane and screw something up, so TRD values are 99% and if someone wants to try and get nasty then I start turning off the torque management like Viktor did.

I'd have to look back but when I did raise trans optimum torque table with the GM 95mm TB it resulted in misfires at WOT. I believe that's when you got @reywcms TB going with just the airload increase and did mine from scratch.

Trying another torque table this evening. CEL came back on for P2757. Truck rips when WOT, but need to make more adjustments for lower RPM's to have it smooth when there is less load. MTF

Ok so I used a new table that reduces expected torque in the lower TPS range and increased expected torque in the higher (>21.5%) TPS range. Results are cleaner and smoother shifts for light throttle driving. No CEL's - yet. Aggressive throttle and driving shows little difference. Overall improvement. I think we have one more iteration to get through before we are there. I think lowering the back half of the table a bit, maybe back to 1.7 or 1.8 instead of 1.9 would be good now that the lower TPS shifting is back to TRD values and smooth.

I'm waiting on my 2JZ parts, wiesco pistons and Mahle rods. Was gonna do the eagle rods but Black Friday was gracious to lower the mahles to a competitive price.

Some months ago, I asked if there was a way to upload and share our .hpt tunes and .hpl logs files here. I got crickets. I just looked now and I see that .zip files are accepted, I'm guessing that maybe the tunes and logs can just be put in one of those and attached?

I definitely saw that picture somewhere before. I’d try it. Who needs bread anyway? Sorry, this is really straying off topic now. Please insert this egg sandwich into your supercharger inlet so we can re-establish relevance. Please share video evidence of having done so.

Hey @armyoffoo can you say with confidence yet if those plenum spacers and supercharger insulation was worth the upgrade in the IAT department?

Okay gang, here's a stock tune that I was able to stumble upon on this computer, I'm not on the one I use for tuning/logs and store all my related debris. Open it up to see what can be seen. I probably wouldn't flash it until someone can verify that compressing/decompressing has no detrimental effects on the tune; we don't want any bricked ECUs. I don't know, maybe someone has received a compressed tune file from a tuner and there's nothing to worry about. I know that there are file comparison tools/applications but for the moment, baby steps, eh?

Yea, I loaded one of my files to compare and it shows all the differences. Looks like it's all there except the Optimum Torque table, which is there but it won't compare for some reason. must be slightly different between the two calibrations or something like that

If memory serves, it's for an older model year, to that doesn't surprise me. I'm tinkering around for ways to compare the original that I scraped up, and the zipped and extracted version that I downloaded from here.

I noticed another difference: My truck has a whole tab on the airflow page of AICS stuff that yours doesnt have

That's because it's a TRD tune for S/C'd trucks where the AICS is nonexistent because it goes away with the stock N/A intake manifold. I wonder if your truck's tune is a modified N/A tune.
