headlight position?

is their a way to put the headlight lower so that i dont blind people???

cause in this video, it got a hole right and mine does too but mine not turning like he is
how do i make my turn down?

Long screw driver. Adjustments go by mm or less

So it will literally take you 30turns before you notice a difference.

Note with some aftermarket housings, the screw adjusters are shit, but virtually all of them have a 6-point bolt head on the rear of the adjuster also, you need to remove the turn signal to get to it.

Also note, the way earlier years adjust is different from how later years do. I don't think your '02 will adjust the same as my '06.

 

My ‘00 uses the long screwdriver blind through the hole on top of the housing. I have a long bit for my screw gun, makes the turns go by faster

 

I've never had to use a screwdriver. Do you guys not have the option to adjust with a 10mm wrench?

Man it honestly seems easier to use a 10mm ratcheting wrench. I guess because I've had to adjust mine so often because of these cheap ass housings and crappy projectors, I have it down to a science.

Feeling ur pain @FirstGenVol and heres my quarters' worth:
I just put new Toyota housings [old ones are sun scorched -free to anyone looking for OEMs,pm me].
I used a Phillips head w/a 8" shank, which has to be less than 1/4inch diam to enter vertical adjustment channel.
It does take a lot of turns to see any apparent vert movement [seems like using the 10mm socket fr/side may be faster], but using the schematic from Toyota for starters [someone posted a while back] I used blue mask tape and made a horizontal line thru the middle w/a Sharpie for each headlight [follow their schematic]. I then just eyeballed the most prominent part of the headlight projection on the tape line to get my desired 'approximate aim' at about 8' from my garage door. After, did a night drive, taking said screwdriver along and fine tuned the final projection alongside a quiet, poorly lit county road. So, my new 55watt halogens in NEW Toyota housings were now at least aimed to reach out about 300' ahead with their yellowish projection.
I thot about adjusting fr/the side [signal housing removed] but the removal process seemed to be enough of a 'jostle' that it might change my fine tuned aim + didnt want to test the plastic of my 18yr old signal housings more than once for my previous Headlight swap.
Everyone has their own preference for aim [vs Toyotas' spec] which is partially influenced by type of bulb, housing and where you frequently do nite driving, etc. Im using OEM 55watt H? stockers, but I look forward to upgrading to the "HeadlightServices" harness for a bit more wattage in near future.
To OPs point about cheaper aftermarket housings, yes the OEMs are pricey but theyre very solidly built w/quality [precision?] reflectors. Having removed my 18yr olds, I used my drill w/10mm socket to check how much vertical movement these OEMs had and clearly its vertical adjustment 'ring gear' [for lack of better term] still worked smoothly and completely. So, I was glad to have spent $ on NEW since I decided to stick w/halogens anyway.
BTW: another reason I chose to replace my 18yr olds is b/c one side has a 6" horiz crack across its middle but not completely across and though its still water tight, I didnt want to wrestle w/the sand-polish effort and still have the visual crack so I bit the bullet.
Again, if anyone wants a couple OEMs to do a 'HID conversion', Id be glad to ship to you for the USPS cost-
BTW: props to @FirstGenVol for nice pics and post. @Shifty in #5 specs it out very well too and I believe the adjustment is different on later housings like '04-06?
