Largest tire you can run stock for all generations

Up to 295s will fit on stock wheels. 34 would be 295/60 on 20, and 295/70 on 18.

Yah, those are 34s too... but I think you'll like the look of the wider tire.

 

I don't buy all these guys saying they're running 275/70/R18's on stock Tundras with no rubbing.

I just had Les Schwab Open Range AT Plus 275/70/R18's installed on my 2019 Double Cab last Friday and they rub hard at full lock, especially in reverse. Stock rims with a front leveling kit. Not sure what they're hitting, but hope to sort it out tomorrow.

 

Did you align it yet?

Trouble shooting is pretty easy if you know where it's hitting.

They were hitting the skid plate. A little tweaking with some vice-grips solved the problem.

Tweaking the "skid plate" (ie sheet metal cover) is kinda like taking the mudflaps off... it's too easy to count as "making clearance". Still I'm surprised that 33s rubbed.

Purchased Nitto Ridge Grappler (16/32 tread depth) LT275/65/R20 in 4/2021 (factory size P275/55/R20), leaves 1/2” clearance between sidewall and UCA. As of today, 12/2023 & 26,857 miles later with consistent rotation/balance, 8/32 tread depth & all around even wear. Pics just off the lift. Doesn’t really leave pavement & no towing yet.

 

you sure you purchased 275/65s your photos show 275/60?

 

I recently got some 295/70r18's and am wondering if the full size spare will fit up under the bed. Anyone tried it? any modifications I need to do to make it fit?

 

I have one of those on the stock rim with stock springs and shackles. I think I had to take a sledge hammer to the tabs that hang down to bend them out a little. It's a "big" 295/70r18 also... STMaxx.

 

I've run Micky Thompson Baja Boss AT's in 275/70 18 for 50K miles with no rubbing issues. Stock wheels and suspension

3rd gen with 37x12.50 KO2s with the red Bilsteins. Required some plastic trimming and the common frame/liner modifications to make it "streetable" with some rubbing (not recommended). Just experimenting before swapping out the suspension.

 

I’m currently on 275/55/20 20x9 offset 0 with 1.5” wheels spacers to gives it a little poke. Tires rubbing on body mount at full lock. I want to run bigger tires therefore if I remove the wheels spacers can I run 275/65/20 or 295/60/20? Needs to buy tires asap as these cooper are getting bad. Thanks

 

Looking for advice.
2019 Tundra DC with off-road package, but suspension is stock beyond that. I don't anticipate any upgrades there in the near future, unfortunately.
Stock summer tires are finally dying, so it's time for new rims/tires. stock TRD 18s will become full-time rims for winter tires.

I've had my eye on the 17" method 701s and nitto ridge grapplers since I bought the truck. I'm already on the schedule for a BMC. RCI skid plate is installed currently.
I don't want to go too crazy with width and diameter. I'm a function over aesthetic guy. Prefer to largely maintain fuel economy and speedometer accuracy. What size do y'all think I should go with?
Mostly pavement, but some off-roading at least once a week to get to trailheads and such for mtn biking, hunting and backcountry skiing.

 

I was looking for the largest tire size for my 2024 trd pro tundra? I have heard so many people say different things, imagine that. Any pics would be helpful.

 

Had 285/65 R20's put on yesterday. 3" factory lift and wheels. Rubbing on the sway bar. What's best way to fix this?

2020 SR5 4x4 with TSS Off Road “Texas Edition” - whatever BS you wanna call it. Stock was 20in wheels and 275/55/20 DuraTrac - no added lift.

Today I swapped for BFG All-Terrain TA K02 and went with the taller 275/60/20. Notice the clearance. Decent difference in filling out the wheel wells too - gains about an inch in height. Hope this helps one of yall.

 

A lot of pages that I haven't seen yet, but was looking for the 3rd gen of 2022 and up sizes.

Why didn't you go with the KO3's ?

 

Can confirm 285/60r20 BFG KO3 fit a bone stock 2025 Tundra limited. OEM wheels and no spacers needed. It has about 1” of clearance to the control arms and full range forward and backwards. Super stoked with both the tires and look.

 

I think I've just made a mistake. I bought these aftermarket wheels. 18x8 stock +60 BS. I’ve just ordered new Toyo RT 285/75R18 tires. They are 34.8x11.3 height and tread width.
Should I go to a +25 offset? I wanted to keep the tire inboard of fenders as best I could but probably miscalculated inside rub in the turns? What do you think? These are the wheels. Factory replica basically

 

285’s on stock wheels (60mm offset) will be tight on the stock uca but shouldn’t rub.
Lots of guys run that size and actually push the suspension without issue.

edit:
Depending on your skid plate you may have to trim it.
Not sure on the OG 2nd gen’s if they have the front forward “mudflap” or not but the on the 2.5’s those usually have to be removed.

 

Thanks for this info. I had planned on removing the tiny front flap. I don't have skid plate yet, I've looked and will create and
build my own. My time will offset the giant cost of buying and importing into Canada now.
I do know the rear plastic panel and mudflap on fronts might have to go. I'll look at cutting plastic away first, then if
the flange weld of body panels needs to grind down, I'll do that too. I don't want to remove mud flap so will have to
look at cheap flat aftermarket for that.

 

Without having to go through 81631 posts, curious what the max size i can fit on a 2024 SR5 TRD Offroad. Stock tires were 265/70/18. Dont do any hardcore offroading, but lots of gravel/forestry roads for fishing and will be carrying a camper so likely wanting C or E rated?
