Also you may run a little richer, maybe .5-.8 more. I just backed off PE a little bit.

This above... when boost referencing you'll need to tweak the tune a little bit.

Readings on the stock magnuson tune were actually better once I boost referenced the fuel pressure. Makes me wonder if it was designed to be run that way and it was just overlooked during installation.

Any chance you have some before and after datalogs? I'd love to see how it responds.

I believe it helped @ARES35 get his enrichment dialed in with more decent afr's.

You're right. I just reviewed the instructions and it definitely specifically indicated connection to the boot barb. Just interesting that the numbers looked better after doing it from my logs.

Funny thing about the Whipple install.. the install instructions show the FPR referencing the intake pre-blower, but when I emailed them direct and asked about having it boost referenced, their reply was 'Yes, you definitely want it boost referenced'.

I do have logs from before and after, however no afr data yet as I still need my PSB-1 to arrive so I can install it and run another set of logs with that information as well before potentially retuning.

Yeah I wanted to see how it was without it on the 76mm because on stock pulley not referenced I swear I was getting GREAT gas milage but when I put it back my afr never hit 10s so I BR again

I do have around 100 or so logs. Tried low pressure 50psi ffv non boost referenced and then referenced. Then 60 psi high pressure mode with jumper in relay box. Currently best combination is the high pressure mode jumper in the fuse box referenced. At the same time it was the hardest for me to tune. Had to dial in the MAF table alot for smooth fuel delivery to meet power enrichment values currently at 1.4/10.44. Also have throttle set to kick in at 30/28. Was at 25/20 but I was way to rich around 2500-3000 rpms when in throttle. I did have to eventually ramp down PE in lower regions from my flatline of 1.4..... I couldn't tune it so low out of closed loop to open loop without it injecting to much fuel. Tuning is an ongoing adventure. Just a weekend warrior tuner with a garage trying not to blow my shit up:hattip:

I'm going to hope @snivilous can keep me from blowing mine up when I move to the 76mm pulley :nuclear:

His tune may help some to keep you out of the red but youll most likely have to get bigger injectors.
Im hoping a tune will keep me safe when traveling into lower elevations and not have to swap pulleys everytime.
Right now im pretty solid on kit parts, boost ref and the 76 at 7k ft. Hitting about 9psi

Injectors are next on my list. Not swapping the pulley until they are installed. I'm down at sea level so its way more critical I keep the fuel flowing, otherwise I'll just be inviting major problems. I'm just hoping the fuel pump from the Magnuson kit will be sufficient.

It may not be as someone else got the pulley and swapped the injectors yet still manages to max out fuel. I think hes looking into a pump next as well

Hey folks. Really appreciate this thread.
I’m having a shop install a TVS2650 on the 18th. I’m not looking for crazy HP numbers but just some smiles per miles. My assumption was everything should be good to go out of the box to keep my 2013 engine as reliable as possible. From reading this thread, I’m confused if I should ask the shop to perform other modifications?

    Cheers!!

No, you should be fine out of the box. If you want more power than the stock supercharger then you'll start wanting to look at other modifications to maintain reliability.

So the "stock" kit is just fine without modification and is all you'll need, except for a tune, wideband, exhaust, bigger injectors, and a smaller pulley.

I'd have to say, at least for me the stock kit was underwhelming after some ass time in the seat. At least at 5k+..... Maybe sea level it feels much more peppy idk

Stock pulley is much more impressive at lower elevations. The first time I went down to 1000' with mine it was ridiculous how much more powerful the truck felt. I think I ordered a smaller pulley as soon as I got home

I'd like to hear in cab audio with the Mag 2650. I actually want minimal supercharger whine noise in cabin. Some of the posts saying the 2650 is louder is giving me pause....

Whatever this forum told me to do
it is not louder than the 1900.

    it is terribly quieter.

like you can barely hear it.

and I run my 2650 (harrop) with a smaller pulley.
