Leveling kit question- rough country

Picking up a new 24 limited on sat and diving balls deep into warrenty safe mods.

Looking at the
Rough Country 1.75 Inch Leveling Kit With Rear Spacer For Toyota Tundra 2/4WD

Not wanting anything to aggressive as it's a daily as well as hauler etc. But want a wee bit of a lift and less rake, and also some room for some fancy wheels and beefy tires.

I think I've decided on the rough country 1.75, but curious if anyone on here has done the rear spacers with it and how they feel about the whole setup.

I've heard for the rear ill probably need to extend the brake lines.

Any info is appreciated.

 

I did a 1” rear as well. I have a 6.5 foot bed and lots of stuff on the bed so the spacer makes it level. And more level while towing the trailer.

I did RC 1.75 on front and nothing in rear on my 24 Limited. Only needed alignment, & upsized tires to 285/65R20. It sits 1/2 higher in rear. I also put sumo springs in rear to keep rear from sagging while towing. I'll see how this setup works & may add a half inch or so to rear only if I need it.

 

I’m sure you’ll love the kit you’re considering. I went just a little higher and went with the RC 3.5” kit and 35x11.5. Just in case you might be wondering what a little more lift looks like, here’s how mine looks…

 

1.75” front nothing in the rear. 35X12.50X17 0 offset. Slight rake not towing.

 

Suspension guy told me putting 2” in front only would make it squat. Is that not true?

 

Unless Toyota has changed the game "but"
any lift,level or "pucks" will void the warranty.

 

I have had lifts on the last 2 Tundras and never had an issue with warranty in general. It's only when a specific directly related problem occurs, say a wheel bearing fail or a brake line pull out somehow that they can proof that the lift caused it, that they can say it is not covered under the warranty.

 

I really think it's dealer specific. Toyota has the RC kit on their website as an option in the accessories. Leads me to believe it won't affect warrenty claims.

 

Definitely like that.
But wife and kids won't like getting in and out lol. Plus as a daily with some commute I don't want to hit fuel milage to hard. Figure the 1.75 is a happy medium

I hear ya man,I honestly do and agree with you.
Common sense dose not apply any more everything is over analyzed and fingers get pointed at somebody eles, so they, meaning corporate does not have to pay for something do to a stipulation of "section A paragraph 2 fourth sentence down" I'm joking obviously.
Toyota offered a 3" kit to give people what they want with out voiding their warranty,I get it and hear ya,I honestly feel that it's hard enough to get a drivers side seat panel replaced under warranty without any modification or a radio knob and a few other things that are known common problems.
It's a slippery slope and you never know who you get to deal with at the Stealership they could have a hair across their balloon knot that day and tell you to go pound sand...

I dunno man I'd hate to spend $2,060. On a 10yr/125k mileage warranty and then spend a few hundred or 2K to lift it to find out it's no longer warrantied due to X Y and Z.

 

Oh totally! You are not wrong at all. Where I am the biggest problem with that are all the American manufacturers. The local Toyota dealership have actually built slightly modified vehicles and warrenty them. I also have some Friendly's in there too.

Thats kinda why I feel like I should be ok. As Long as I keep to Toyota approved stuff. The rough country front is an approved kit with out the rears. Along with the 3" lift. However they have stopped with the 3" lifts right now. I'll confirm with the guys I know before I really do anything

Fair point. Just a thought… My wife and kids (they’re grown) have to use the step bars even at factory height, so it didn’t matter for me. And the tires really are the only factor in your mileage, and going to LT tires won’t matter between 34” and 35”. In fact, I lost about 3 mpg going to these tires (remember to correct for the diameter change — a lot of people forget this), and it is the exact same amount I lost on my last truck going to LTs, even though I stayed the factory size with them.

 

Did you have any issues with any of the TSS sensors? Parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, etc.?
How is the ride post-lift?

 

Not at all. Now, my Toyota dealer is a Rough Country authorized dealer, so it was the actual Toyota techs doing the work when I bought the truck. But during the review of the scope of the installation, they never mentioned needing to touch any of the sensors. I did have to adjust the headlights a bit, though.

No complaints from the family on the ride quality, and they’re much more sensitive to that stuff than I am. It does ride firm but not harsh, and I was surprised how well the RC shocks/struts handle the road.

 

Did you have to compress your springs for the 1.75”?
