It’s a long story. I worked with a performance shop to install aftermarket suspension and springs on the rear end. Somehow, the e-locker sensor wiring harness ended up partially plugged into the differential, causing it to malfunction and partially lock. I never heard or felt anything different in the truck, but apparently it ground the gears and the differential fluid is like metallic toothpaste. The e-locker is broken and Toyota will only fully replace the diff, they don’t do repairs. I checked with another shop and they confirmed gears aren’t available for the truck and I’d have to buy one from Toyota either way. $4,500 installed. Life’s fun sometimes!

I called ECGS recently, they confirmed the gears are unfortunately different from other gen trucks. Maybe the 1st ever locker in a Tundra caused the difference.
Heard it would be a couple hundred thousand to invest.

Maybe we could play the group buy card, get 30 to 50 owners to buy in? Then bring that to a mfr

My truck never uses 10th gear on 285/75-18 34.8"

    I'd want 3.9 or 4.10s for up to 37s
    3.90 is an 18% jump from 3.31
    4.10 is a 24% jump from 3.31

18% jump from 32.6" tires equates to 38.5".
    24% jump equates to 40.3"

    37’s :(
Hello all! Just following up to ask if any updates have been made regarding new gears for the 3rd gen tundra? I recently bought a 2024 Tundra SR5. The previous owner put 37s on the truck. It looks nice but I’m worried about longevity given that it’s on stock gears. I’d love for this to be my forever truck. I am willing to make any important modifications to ensure that my truck is happy and healthy for years to come!
