Curious...what range were you observing? How much did you lose over those 37k miles %-wise?

Seems to me the stated range is one driver who weighs 120 lb with no other occupants or gear on 348mi of perfectly flat highway at 45mph.

    Dunno

i don’t think we lost any range

    we hardly ever supercharged

and rarely went above 80% charge

hard to say. We never really watched that metric

    I’ll add

    we watched miles, not %

and since we use every electronic amenity, the “range” gets foggy

our 90 mile trip to the lake takes 110 “miles”

for numbers. Our 80% charge yielded about 280 miles on the “tank”

    it never varied from that

the MX is about the same “miles”

I’m just trying to decide if going new when the refresh MY comes out or used is a better idea. I’m thinking it’s not too bad of a deal to lose a few % of range if it means someone else took the depreciation hit.

Or pick up a new one in inventory before the end of the year, there is steep discounts already.

I am less inclined to do that for the exact reason the discounts are so steep. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't tempting, though. A friend just took delivery of a MYLR last month. He told me to use him as a referral if I want another $1k off.

Yeah, you can use any referral code for $1k off right now. I'm keeping an eye on 2 MYLR, one $2500 off and the other $3k off.
Throw in the referral discount and it's real tempting

Odd. Maybe a one off with the new years? I would have assumed they would have figured it out by now and changed whatever they were doing to correct it.

    MX door update

after work, I drove the Tundra to the League City Tesla service center.

The nice young fella at the service desk was VERY customer focused.

I explained we had a new MX and the door won't open,
and also comically drop that it's the wife's car and please get me out of the shit(happy wife/happy life)
so, he went back to the service guys to see if he can fit me in this morning. yes!!

now the service guy comes out(another awesome customer service example) and asks the situation. I explain "someone" can't get in the drivers door.

the service guy said to try this fix.....have someone get in and use the manual bypass* and that will usually reset the door routine.

I called my son to have him give it a try......bam...it works now.

    Tesla is awesome.

*FTR - if I was present, that would be the first thing I would have done.

...and - truly, I did not realize/consider that the MX has the same manual bypass as the MS. the MS is obvious, the MX, not so much.

and I still have the doo-hicky part coming in - in case it faults again (it will).

Thinking about scheduling another demo drive. We drove a MYLR last year. I want to try the MX this time.

Biggest thing holding me back on the X are those gullwing doors. They are cool, but they scream “look at me”. This would be primarily a family hauler for trips around the city. We do a lot of these with our kids and their activities. Those doors would get a workout.

    Very cool outcome!

The MY maunal front door release is obvious, the rear door release is in the door cubby under the rubber liner. That took a bit to find :D

we had the same reservations about the MX....the back doors. but, it's not a thing anymore.

    smaller kids?....get the MY.

the MX & MY are very similar...fundamentally. The differences are there, but they are reflected in the price.
