    Welcome and congratulations.

In before all the chrome delete freaks. It might not seem possible after spending some time on the site, but you don't have to actually remove, replace, paint or cover anything just because it is shiny.

    Lol…words of wisdom…

Although I have been tempted lately to get a new, less shiny grill :D

Avoid the “Builds” forum, or you too will be tempted

What year is the 4-runner? A beauty!

This guy must be having a rough day.

Delete your chrome, inside and out.
    Get a new head unit
    Lift it 2"
    Add 33s
    Install a supercharger

    Smiles for miles.

Since it is 2019, install transmission cooler the first thing.

Add a semi-hidden bumper and winch.

    Add Leer/ARE cap.

Rago or similar dash mount and tablet with offroad map.

Why go 33s when 35s are just as easy?

I am still trying to figure out where to go with the truck. Right now we are in Alaska so gearing it up for the winter will be priority #1. Super pumped to have a full size now, the cabin space was the biggest selling point. The V8 was just a plusIMG_1030.jpg . Came from a 19' Tacoma with an Alu-Cab.

Basically, it comes down to day to day operations. 33" is better than 35". A few moments a year when I think I need 35" - there's a winch and snow chains. For me personally 1 extra inch of ground clearance is not worth it. Though I confess I'm thinking hard every 2-3 years before buying 33" again :)

33s don't require you to recalibrate your speedo. Also don't require a regear for towing. Also don't require UCAs to be swapped or a body chop for fittment up front.

EDIT - REQUIRED* = Forum consensus after lots of trial and error by members.

Really? Are you sure you're not conflating 35s with 37s? I know all of those changes are required for 37s, I haven't read anything that says any of those (besides the speedo) are required for 35s. Even with offroading.

Your truck comes stock with 32's. You don't think you need to regear with a 10% diameter change? Your powerband will be way off and forget about using 6th gear.

As I said earlier "EDIT - REQUIRED* = Forum consensus after lots of trial and error by members."

People do all sorts of things outside of that. But in my reading, if you want your truck to act kind of "normal" in terms of power and handling, those are recommended.

It's not about diameter, it's about rotating mass distribution over distance from the center. Even with 33" LT tire you feel truck became more sluggish and it spends much less time in 6th gear TC locked. Going from the TRD Offroad stock P-rated 32" Michelin LTX to, say, 33" LT General Grabber A/TX brings the tire weight from 40 to 61 lbs. Going to 35" adds only 4 more lbs, to the total of 65. 35" LT tire would not feel significantly more sluggish over 33" LT tire. It still would, but not much.

What really stops me is $100-150 premium over 33" tire. $294 for 33" and $421 for 35", $508 extra for the set of 4? $500 is a lot of beer! Thanks, no. Also it won't be much better in snow, and now I can't use good chains due to minimal tire to UCA clearance.

What is the story on the transmission cooler? Is this a problem area for 2019? I have a 2019 platinum that I bought back in the Spring.

Half of trucks w/o that cooler seems to heat up a lot, while other half is ok, even when towing. Mine was in the first bucket. First partial ATF change at 19k revealed very burnt ATF. Wife's last year V8 Sequoia w/o a cooler does not heat ATF up, but at 20k ATF was dark, too. With cooler ATF stays pink over similar drain&fill intervals.

Thanks for the info. Was a trans cooler an option for these trucks in 2019?
