What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Do the mirrors shake a little, I have had issues with cheaper mirrors when you drive on the highway they have a little shake to them.

 

I have the Boost mirrors. I have not noticed any shaking of them even at high speeds (Texas highways)

 

My boost auto mirrors shake a tiny bit but you have to really be looking for it.

The roads here are also crap.

 

Swapped out the sorry screws they send with the Stillen CAI for some stainless hex heads that are MUCH better and even look better imo..

 

I like the bigger Allen head bolts.

 

Ordered a stainless metric kit off Amazon

 

Only problem I see is the original hardware had a built in washer to spread the load and I don’t see a washer on the new bolts. Tighten to much and you could crack the lid.

 

Yes I used washers but may swap to a larger diameter

What is the procedure to add the turn signal function? Is the wiring already there? What year/model is your truck?

 

As long as the mirrors purchased have the turn signal function and are wired for a Tundra, the turn signals will work even if your stock mirrors didn't have a turn signal indicator. The wiring is already there in the truck harness.

Some of the lower cost mirrors are not pinned to match the truck harness and it normally just takes swapping 2 wires in the mirror harness for everything to work.

The only functions that require running wires is if you add power folding (not adjusting) and your truck didn't have it, or the reverse light that most of the GM style mirrors have.

 

Earlier this am I scored a Wilco Solo for a great price! Here are a few pics, just mocking up the tire/wheel, checking clearances, etc. Won’t mount the tire until I secure a lock, but have just a few questions here:

Got my fender flares on today. The rubber strip between flare and body was a pain. But, I like it. There’s just a little bit of sidewall sticking out. Hopefully the side of the truck won’t get as dirty.

 

The bolt head pattern on the flares goes well with the bolt pattern on my wheels and lug nuts.

Thank you. I have a 3.5 RC full struts in the front. 2” blocks in the rear. Also have airbags in the rear to help tow the 29’ camper. The RB 20 slim running boards give it a higher look than the OE side steps.

 

Did you have to do upper control arms

 

Put new side steps on. Tiger trax. Coated them with rust inhibitor first. They were cheap but hope they last. Also put on color matched mirror caps and RCI engine skid. Not a bad weekend.

 

Yes. I didn’t have to, but I wanted to upgrade. I put RC upper control arms in.

 

Picked up an offroam phone holder on fb marketplace for $20 and installed it. I was originally waiting out for a cheap ram x holder but am happy with this. In case anyone else cares or was curious, the offroam phone holder works perfectly fine with AJT vent trim covers installed.

Also, after moving to Eastern Washington from Oregon nearly 2 years ago, I finally got WA plates for the Tundra. I had to milk the 4 year tabs I bought with the truck when new in 2020.

 

Helped install a TX light bar in my buddy's Tundra.

We used his canopy and side curtain to stave off the direct sun, but the beer supply definitely took a hit today due to the heat.

I know. The guy got rid of his Tundra over a year ago and had it at $50 for almost a year. Finally dropped the price and I pounced on it.

 

Looks good! I have that same front body armor bumper piece. I just need to get the right light bar for it before I install it.

It is not fun to install imo - we both agreed it ain't coming off again.....then realized he needs a winch
