I used some fishing line but the sun was setting so it definitely wasn't as hot as I had planned, heat gun would have helped though.

Right on. Yea I had learned that the hard way on an old project so I gotta use the heat no matter what now. I had mine slide off like butter. Only spot that I got residue for me was part of my limited badge. Everything else came off all together thankfully. Put my tundra badge on my yeti tundra cooler now it’s almost like adding spinners to it lol

Going to combine Saturday and Sundays activities in one thread.

On Saturday I had to remove the front bumper clip to adjust my Diode Dynamics light bar so while I was in there I vacuumed out the bugs from the intercoolers and added some metal screen over them to add a little protection.

Nothing fancy, I just cut them to size and gorilla taped them on pretty taunt.

    IMG_7006.jpg IMG_7010.jpg IMG_7011.jpg

Today I washed the truck and detailed the rims with a graphene coating and a mat ceramic coating for the tires.

Where did you get those tailgate letters? They look incredible and exactly like what I want for mine.

What subs are you putting in? What sound processor are you going to use? I'm curious because planning on adding 2 10" subs myself but exploring the different options for setup

You dont necessarily need a sound processor to add subs/amp. Get a good amp that has gains, low pass filter, and other settings and you should be good, done this a few times.
Also would recommend tuning with an oscilloscope to make sure you can get the most out of it without clipping. I purchased one and it made a world of difference in getting it right.

Did you have any trouble with the sub working with the active noise cancellation feature on the JBL? In my last truck (GMC Sierra) I had the turn off the active noise cancellation to prevent the bigger sub from causing a feedback loop. I've not been able to get a straight answer about this for the JBL system on the Tundra

I have not done this yet on my Tundra. Since I did do it to my Silverado, ANC will cause problems. On my sons Infiniti we didn't need it when we added RCA low level inputs on the line-in side of the Bose Amp, it didnt have ANC.

Finally got around to installing the grill mesh for the turbo inter-coolers that I bought a while back. I used a roll of black rigid metal grill mesh off Amazon with small diamond shaped holes. I measured and cut around the radiators with notches for the ducting bolt holes. Gave the cut edges a quick zap with black spray paint and then re-assembled everything. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and it also makes the radiators less noticeable.

That looks great. Is your mesh touching the cooler?
I have mesh on order. I was thinking of using the bolt to the right in your second picture. That would lift it off the cooler by an inch or so.
I had three acorns and a bunch of bugs in there. :-/

Thank you. It touches the sides around where the mounting bolts go. The cooling fins are slightly recessed in proportion to the sides, so when mounting the mesh directly on the radiator, it left maybe 1/4 inch or so between the mesh and cooling fins. I had a bunch of bugs as well. The mesh is really heavy duty so hopefully it helps.

Received our first bill and didn’t like the interest charged after 10 days of purchase (even though it was reasonable), so we decided to pay it off! :bananadance:

I put a genuine Toyota bed step on my truck this past weekend that I bought for $260. Easy install. My son was pissed because his came with one for the factory that they charged $400+ dollars for on his window sticker.

Why did you get a loan? I took Toyota’s 1.99% loan and put the money in a 5% CD.

I bought used at 4%. Debated on getting the loan or not. I’m a big Dave Ramsey guy so it was hard for me to go back into “debt”. Haven’t had it one month and we decided to take the money out of a money market account we have.

It’s a powered Kicker 10” enclosure. 180 watt. Used to install nice systems but due to the budget I’m going to try this route first. Really just need bass for more full sound. If it’s to weak at least I’ll have the amp wires run I guess. Installed EOM and I’ll let you guys know.

Those stock falkens are really 3/4 tires to boost epa numbers. They arenot 3 peak rated. I replaced them at 5 k. They are a sham

I bought my truck with 8k on them, OEM tires (I think... they are at3w/a not just the W) but I've got 20k miles and they are shot. I'm slipping and sliding around any time the roads are even a little wet. Ended up ordering some 275/65/20 Nitto Terra Grappler G3s.

Thats some bullshit. Putting on tires just to boost the epa, and expecting the consumer to buy new ones so early should be a crime.

I'm installing new tires today too. Truck has only 20,344 easy miles and tires are shot. They put special tires I guess on new vehicles with almost no tread to have no rolling resistance but they don't last... putting 35s with pretty aggressive tread, will most likely loose mile or 2 mpgs but who cares, lol

What tires are you going with? I’m about to do the same. Having a shop out on my leveling kit in a couple of days, then going to pick out some tires. I kind of feel like it’s a bit overwhelming, in a way, trying to pick some out. Think I’ve narrowed it down to either the Nitto Recons or Toyo open country III. Toyo’s have slightly better reviews

Was going to do cooper's but one tire got damaged. Went with cheap off brand for now that they had locally, paid $937 with taxes for tires:
Americus Rugged ATR All Terrain LT35X12.5R20 121S E Light Truck Tire

They don't rub, I do have 1.75 front and 1.25 rear level kit though.
Hopefully those tires will last. Anyways I'm pretty happy how they ride now And for the price I paid I feel I'll get my money worth out of them
