2014-2021 Front/Rear Anytime Camera Mod - FRAC Harness

When I get you kit installed I'll make sure to update you guys soon after.

 

I plan to ship the 2nd lot of harnesses tomorrow, and the 3rd and final shipment for existing orders should go out Saturday.

Just picked my kit up from the post office. I'll be installing Friday or Saturday.

 

How this should be installed in a Pro since we don't have the Toyota emblem? Anyone here did that already pictures? Thanks

Carlos, how does the low profile camera mount? Did you end up using hot glue? Is that the only way to attach it?

 

can you not rig it with a washer and nut on the backside to hold it in place?

 

There's no bolt on the back like yours. No idea how this thing is supposed to attach.

 

out looks like it has a way to stay on....and if you aren't too keen on the little lip....find a washer or something like it to put on the back to make it a wider lip. if that makes any sense.

 

I never thought about putting that one piece out. When I try to put it on tomorrow I'll attempt that and keep you all updated. Tomorrow is the big install.

The time has come... Ordering is now open for the FRACv2 Harness Kits!

I am building 100 kits and final parts are expected in the next 10-14 days. So I anticipate that shipments will begin approximately the 3rd week of September. There are two different kit configurations; Nav and Non-Nav. The Prices are as follows:

FRACv2 kit for Vehicles WITH Factory Navigation: $179.00 + $8.00 S&H = $187.00

FRACv2 for Vehicles WITHOUT Factory Navigation: $159.00 + $8.00 S&H = $167.00

Applicable sales tax will be added for Texas shipping addresses. Shipping will be via USPS Express Mail (with tracking number) to U.S. Addresses in the Lower 48 only.

For 1794, Platinum, and some Limited models, there are no blank factory switch locations in the cab, so you will need to determine a location for your two switches. A convenient place to install them is in the ledge above the accessory power panel as seen below. (Thanks @BlueBottle for use of the pictures). For all other vehicles the switches will include a switch bezel that will plug into factory blank switch locations.

Ok guys finally my FRACv2 is finally installed. I previously posted about using the low profile front camera. Here I tried to include a picture of what it looks like using that camera.

Carlos, how did you route your rca cable? Do you have pics of that?

 

Route the RCA cable and power line through the passenger side firewall grommet. Then by removing the clip-in panel above the glove box you can route the cable to the Entune Bay pretty easily.

 

That's exactly the way I routed my cable. Easy does it. It's easier to pass the cable from the inside out at the grommet. Otherwise you are going to have a hard time. By the way don't forget to use the secret ingredient which is GREASE, to lube the head of the RCA cable. I placed a on foot piece of cable attached to the RCA cable with electrical tape and covered the plug then pulled it from the engine bay.

 

Cool. Was looking at it today. The grommet that the wiring harness goes through the fire wall seems easy enough to get through. I haven't started to look behind the glove box yet. I figured I'd wait till I had everything apart for that. Is it pretty easy behind the glove box?

 

Yes, pull the long skinny panel with the A/C vent on the right side, above the glove box area. It's just held in with clips. I'll see if I can find a picture. This allows you to fish the cable from the grommet, above the glove box area, over to the Head Unit bay.

 

As for the grommet, cut off the lower nipple on the engine bay side, then on the interior side you can cut a small 'x' in the grommet across the small opening opposite the nipple. Then push a hangar or other wire through the grommet hole, tape your video/power cable to the hangar, and pull it through from the inside.
