All my previous vehicles have had manual transmissions. In snow, downshifting did help to slow down in a controlled manner, but with all the bells and whistles on our trucks I haven't tried downshifting in snow with the manual shift feature thing-a-ma-bob.

My wife's new Rav4 has paddle shifters for manual use. Haven't tried those either, need to though

I use it when cruising in traffic. Shift it into 6th doing 55mph (traffic) and I get better mileage. And it'll go back into auto if the truck thinks it should.

    Some suspension tweaks
Yep. Sounds good with the TRD exhaust too. Wind it up each gear, let off the throttle and push the stick up to the next gear at the same time and pause. Sounds like a wannabe stick shift.

The wife and I like to cruise back roads here in the Ozarks, put it in 3rd and just kind of roll along. If I go down a hill and it's gaining speed I'll shift to 2nd and not have to use my brakes as much to keep a slow speed sometimes I'll go as low as 1st to crawl up some longer hills.
