I’ve heard low caster does the same?
I don’t drive fast or on the freeway much, so I guess I’ll find out one day hahah
The steering feels good, but I’d still like to replace my rubber coupler thing in the steering shaft one day

Lots of stuff causes bumpsteer. Any change to geometry. Tough part is finding the right recipe to reduce it. It's always there. OEM gives specs to avoid while using their parts. That's what the green areas are on the alignment stuff, basically the sandbox to play in.

Should be fine. I bet there is/was something else causing that.

It'll be good. @alb1k ended up with 4.5 and was happy. I think he tried 5.5 or 6 to start.

The city I live next to now changed their standard 30 mph (driving through dense neighborhoods) to 25 mph all over the city including the main roads.

Who drives that slow other than people in their 70s-90s?? Last time I checked, it’s not geriatric world over there.

Must be a group of seniors with a lot of political pull to get their way.

Also a little over 6 years out of a Magnaflow bolt on cat (passenger side, installed April 2018) and I'm now getting P0430 steady after replacing both Denso O2 sensors. I'm going to check for a leak between the header collector flange and the cat but I'm pretty sure it's just done. Luckily my county stopped doing OBD/emission testing a few years back. I put 70K miles on the Magnaflow.

Honestly it might not be, but its just a spare if I break one offroading. If that ever happens Id be buying a Toyota reman'd one to replace it once I got back home.

Thanks for the heads up though!

Didnt someone here recently remove their diff drop kit? I will be doing that today or tomorrow when my OEM bolts show up from toyota.

Do you recall the torque specs for those 2 bolts? Is it best to support the diff with a jack or stand and then do one side at a time? Thanks!

I removed mine when I regeared. You could probably support the diff with a jack, remove both bolts and the spacers, then jack the diff up and put the new bolts in.

Yeah, I did have a PO420 code about 3 years ago when I had a gasket blow and leak at the header flange and a new gasket fixed the code then. I couldn't find any leaks this time around. When I did the O2 sensors, I also replaced all the hardware for the bolt-in cat, and two out of three studs on the header flange too.

It was probably me. Just replaced the old one with a trailgear one. I'm cranked in the front so I just left it in versus removing it.

Just did a transmission drain and fill on my nused truck. This was the last of the fluids I needed to change since I bought the truck in August. I was pleasantly surprised to see bright red fluid draining from the transmission. It looked like ATF from a fresh quart bottle. The previous owner or the dealer had the transmission serviced. I don't know the service history, but the truck had new upper and lower control arms and ball joints installed (don't know what brand of ball joints though) and I got the dealer to install brake pads, rotors and a front end alignment. The brake fluid, antifreeze and power steering fluids are all in great condition. The differential and transfer case fluids were dirty though but that's all renewed now. Next are wheels and tires.

I also installed Bilstein 5100s up front. No crazy lift for me though. Basically in stock configuration. Unlike many, I like a slight rake look. I had to get rid of those Carquest struts and shocks and all of that body roll. She rides nice and tight now. The way I like it.

When I got my Trakmotive axles they had a different size hex drive but the thread size and pitch was exactly the same as OEM, so I just put the OEM nuts back on it and its been fine. I didn't want to have to go buy another socket just for reinstall.

    That's good to know.

I replaced both cvs on my Tacoma before selling it. Well, I replaced one a few years before, then the other just a few weeks before. Got them both from NAPA. Neither had the same nut size as OEM, but unfortunately they also had different nut sizes than each other! NAPA either switched manufacturers, or the manufacturer changed sizes. I should have just tried the OEM nut...But it's the next guy's problem now. Seems like a small thing to buy a new socket, but if you're buying a 20+mm impact socket, it's not cheap.

Your truck (as with all '05-'06) should use WS fluid. WS fluid typically turns more purplish with use, in my experience, red when new.

    00-02 takes ATF
    03-04 takes T-IV
    05-06 takes WS

Yeah, it was similar in color to the WS transmission fluid I got from Toyota. It must've been recently serviced. All is good. The transmission shifted smoothly before and after the drain and fill. I now know that the transmission had been serviced and will keep with the service schedule from now on.

Rear seat storage area is coming along. Got some bins coming in the mail to fit in the upper section for all my tools and recovery gear.

Gonna try to get the diff drop delete done today.

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
A little frame love for my old girl today.
Vacuumed out the front rails. Entire frame inside and out got sprayed. All of the cross members inside and out. Up in all the wheel wells/inside the panels got a good coating as well.
First sprayer full was a lot of t-fluid, oh well, sent it. About 9-10qts, 50% of which I mopped up off the tarp with 3 old beach towels. The DIY garden sprayer w/air worked pretty well, 90psi max, don't ask how I know
Messy job but the rust is paused for a year or two, and that's what I can do for her now. Smells like a Texas Oil rig

Looks like a lot, but it's not quite a quart jars worth from each side.

Replace my Power steering hose. The rubber on the high pressure hose had deteriorated to the point it was leaking in the middle of the line. This little bastard fought me hard. Couldn’t get my bear paws around it to line it up so I ended up removing this air box and air intake to get enough room.

Oil based undercoating is definitely the way to go. What's in your mix? I follow a guy on youtube who melts a wax toilet seal into chainsaw bar oil. Super thick stuff.
