I did not. Those were the only two I took. I can try to grab some more later maybe. Random thunder/lightning and wind storm just hit.

No problem, hunker down! I’ll keep digging. I think I need to focus on some areas on my rig to understand it.

I can confirm the softex seats are the exact same between mine with just heated seats and those that have the heated+vented which is a good thing. I’ve already got the delivery method for the fans just worried they may have used a different master harness that wouldn’t have the tails for where I would plug the fan assemblies into…

    @MrKABC, this is great!

We’re at the beach this weekend. Not in front of my truck. Kids won’t sleep. So here I am! lol

Looking at just the back for now, seems like there’s more differences than I thought. I see more overall structure, more lumbar support things that require plugs? And from what I can tell, the top half has some grey mesh-type material I’m guessing to diffuse some of the air to the back from the fan?

Mine just has the same dense foam material and yours has the grey looking mesh. I can tell the fan is mounted higher in the back seat from your pictures. Yours is on the left below and mine on the right in the side by side.

I also see a good bit more wiring back there in your picture. I followed the path where your split for the fan was and don’t see that in my picture. Something tells me it’s a different master wiring harness all together.

Then I see things like this online (which is supposedly from a limited) showing a larger cavity back there and a mount point for the fan. Maybe the filler grey mesh was taken out on this pic? I just have so many questions for what’s going on with all this.

I've been checking this thread off and on. I too am interested in adding ventilated seats if it's doable. I have a '23 SR5 premium package 8 foot bed. The bed is why I didn't go Limited or above. Just wondering if any one has made any progress on this.

I got as far as trying to source parts but it was gonna be expensive if going OEM. Don’t think anything is CAN BUS related so should be easier. Then I thought about going aftermarket (something from Aliexpress was cheapest). Haven’t made it further than that.

What kind of cost were you seeing to do it oem? Interesting that you bring up the can bus aspect, I was wondering if this all ran through it or not. I would prefer a complete oem setup, but at a minimum would really like the oem dash switches to control the ventilated seats; if at all possible, and if it only makes sense to go aftermarket.

I saw on fleBay some takeoffs someone was selling from what I’m guessing was a wrecked rig, were about $150/seat. That was just for the fans. I’m sure new OEM would be more than that. Would still need the wiring and some mounts for the seats as well as the different HVAC control module that includes the vented seat buttons. This is why I was thinking about an aftermarket kit.

I had my eye on this. Very interesting. I’ve always thought a seat ventilation system was a fan that blew air on your butt and back but this looks like a suction where it pulls air. Wonder how well that would work?

So these stock oem seat fans blow cabin air and are not supplied direct air that tee off the rear floor vent? There just pulling cabin air thats mostly coming from the front and rear floor vent?
I’ve had jimmy rig a 90 degree elbow upwards off my rear floor vent on my list of things to do since last summer. No one sits in my back seat. The drivers seat has a upside down bowl kinda shape that would catch the air. I think the cold air blasting upwards would lower cushion foam temp. Why am I wasting cold air to cool my rear floor mats?
Need to plug passenger rear floor vent and make sure new elbow doesn’t interfere with adjusting seat position.
Quick and cheap for the Sr5s out there. Any thoughts?

haven’t found the right elbow yet.
I know the seat foam is dense but can’t hurt to try

This is a good idea! Let me know how it goes if you try it. I'm still interested in getting something to work one day as well. It's just lower on my list currently.

With the suction, it seems like there wouldn't be any flow where you make contact with the seat. Although the seats are very porous, so air may suck in all over. My old boss had an f-150 the cooled seats had actual a/c air blowing out. It was great.

That would definitely be ideal having A/C. I’ll probably try back on this one when it gets hot around me soon and it’s needed.
