IMO, your shocks are too short. You’re only 1/2” taller than mine, with 2” more exposed shaft.

lowering the rear 2” via Deaver’s rework will leave you a half inch low in the back.

With your heavy-ish static load, I’d be willing to bet you eventually sag out to about where I sit. Acceptable rake is definitely subjective, so I can’t say if that’s ok with you.

I just measured my front, and it’s 25”. I have 1.5” rake. Personally, I would like my rear to be about a half inch lower, but it’s not worth chasing for that. I could raise the front a tad, but I’m ok with my stance.

so your saying dropping the rear 2” will only give me 1/2” more shock travel?

I’m running 2.5” ADS coil overs on my 2014 with MCM Fab uppers. Four years and zero complaints.

I’m running 3.0x16” 4-tube bypasses on my 2001 with SUA Deavers. I’ve been running these for 8 years and have zero issues. I’m still running the valving ADS included, though now that my truck is caged they could use some tuning. I’ve rebuilt them once and they were slightly more difficult than doing Foxes or Kings, mainly due to the reservoir cap requiring a special wrench from ADS. Outside of that, the rebuild was the same.

No Sir. I was noting that you currently sit 1.5” higher in the rear than front. If you lower your rear 2”, you’ll be 1/2” lower than the front. Not quite a Carolina Squat, but it’ll look low in the ass end. You can certainly lower the front a bit to level it out.

Lowering the rear will get your shocks where you state you want them, at ~6.5” exposed shaft at static. Keep in mind that your Deavers are a heluva lot thicker than OEM packs. By lowering, you may likely have more bump stop contact than you’d planned for.

I still think your shocks are just too short. Your Deaver’s lift numbers are inline with the rest of us that run them, but we have longer shocks.

Nice! That's a super clean bed solution you have there for your jack and handle. I'll bet your 01 is pretty fun! What's the front setup looking like?

Thanks. It fits my dirt bike and I have a mount for two 5-gallon gas cans opposite the jack. The truck is fully caged, frame is fully boxed, front end is Total Chaos LT with Fox coil overs and bumps. Hopefully I’ll build a new front end this year with big hubs and brakes, possibly converting it to I-beams, at which point I’ll switch to ADS coil overs and big bypasses up front, maybe a 3.0/4.0 combo if funds permit.
