What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Hahaha, I know they are all missing, that one you see doesn't even qualify as present either.
I don't think I can get enough room to slip them in there w/o braking the packs apart can I? Looks like the new ones are nealry 3/4 high.
Take a look at the room I have, the OEM keeper wont even let me get that kind of room... maybe I can yank that rubber cushion out... gain 1/4-3/8"?
That redneck clamp I made and put on there a while back because of the shifting I saw in that FAT bottom HD helper. I loosened it, but didn't want to loose what I gained putting it on.
Which leads to cutting the U-bolts because they aren't coming loose, I tried with a LONG cheater until I figured I was going to snap one. So I'd be replacing them.
I agree what you say is the correct way. What I factor in is the fused U-bolts, cost of new U-bolts, and ffs look at this thing
OH, and my shoulder is FKD up, I'm hurting from just doing what little I did today.

You absolutely can, I’ve watched videos on YT showing people with an angled bar wedging under the tip enough to slide from the side. Dorman makes them. I’m fairly certain any LAPS should carry them, though they may not be marked as supporting our year. As long as the diameter of the nipple fits you’re good.

AC bed holds two cubic yards of mulch. (Four if you make two trips when your wife decides she likes it and wants it in all the beds.)

 

There are a couple different types. Ones that have the tall flared base like yours, then ones that have a rubbed shank like this. The ones with the ribbed shank you can shave down on a bench grinder to get the clearance you need. I believe the ribs are supposed to be what holds them in.

Shave it down to the height you need, and shove it in there. Note sometimes you can also open up that rebound clip (the steel C-clip) to get more space, then close it up using a large c-clamp. Your steel may be crusty because rust belt, but ... you can also grind the rivet, remove the rebound clip, and replace with an aftermarket rebound clip. If you have a full 12-pack already though, try shaving off some of the base using the flat side of a bench grinder wheel if you've got one (I think most of us do). Else maybe you have a belt sander or sanding wheel?

Nah. I took it off because I didn't want a nice new wheel and tire under there and I didn't think it'd fit. I still haven't got a full size spare been rolling the dice this far....

Just ordered both Haynes and Chilton 2006 Tundra manuals and a sunshade recommended by a member on page 2113 of this thread.

I personally think copper is the best conducter for any year's. Except forced Induction I would run a colder NGK plug which I have before. Currently running Pulstar plugs which are platinum on my 07. Ran flawlessly for 30K plus miles so far.

 

I used platinum single electrode plugs in my 5vz's, because I was too cheap to buy the dual electrodes they called for. I never had any issues either. Of course they only required copper duals

 

yea single electrode is good enough for daily driving. Im ready to swap my pulstars when i get home, but first Ill try the coppers NGK to Dyno the difference and write a full review on Pulstars, since I owe them for a free set they sent me.

 

I've only used NGK on all my yotas

 

Ive used both Denso and NGK on all my Yotas and Hondas. Denso is OE recommended for my 07 4.7L, Iridium.

 

Oddly enough, on the 5vz, Toyota recommends NGK for one bank and Denso for the other. No idea why.

I come from drifty carz. So it was KAAZ/ CUSCO clutch packs or you welded in some steel plate and made the spider gearSSSSS..... a gear lol

but from the looks of the splines/pins it slides onto an axel and those pins probably lock the spider gears in place. Or I'm wayyyyyy wrong lol

which, honestly, I still think a piece 1/4" steel plate welded in after you weld the gears together is just stronger lol

 

Found the source of 1 new noise (which I thought was that shock with the blown seal). Fuckin bolt for the airbag cradle ninja'd its way loose and out so the bracket was just a swingin' hitting shit. I need to ditch these blocks and get leaf packs to compensate for the lack of block assume?

Guess I need to get under her more often...

But that said, I think you'll probably need to go with a custom solution to get the height you need, I think Archive and Deaver both make custom packs? Not my area of knowledge.

 

I got my custom pack from Alcan.
Just make sure you tell em you want like an inch more lift than you think you do and over estimate the weight by like 400 pounds.
I told em 2" rear lift, because I had OEM leafs with wheelers AAL and I wanted an additional 0.5"... Well I ended up losing 0.5", so a whole 1" lower than I wanted. Also I only told em like 300lbs in the bed. I want to add a leaf or two now. But at least they're super flexy off-road. Which was what I was going for.

 

I put a front window shade into the windshield about 20 minutes ago.

I just ditched mine and couldn’t be happier. The PO out a new leaf pack in; general or husky spring I think. I added the Deaver AAL and am at the same ride height, or pretty close. Ride is much smoother over bumps.

 

How big was.the block in the back on yours?
I'll.probably research tonight and call a couple places tomorrow from what I can tell so far the more you want lift wise ya may end up having to use different brackets cuz the springs get longer depending on application...

 

The blocks were 2 inches. I’m sitting at 26 inches hub to fender. I’m assuming the springs will settle a little and should get a little less lift.
