Took a pic the last time I was behind the dash. I would love to have a wiring diagram as well. I need to track down some problems.

Are u installing urself? Idk if this is for all trucks but on my 17 sr5 we had to cut 2 wires from the passeneger side panel. I believe they were for the TPMS. We installed everything and wouldnt start with remote untill we double cheked and we had missed those 2 wires.

Yes I'm installing it myself. I don't think the Limited or SR5 would have different wires for remote start. Parts are ordered, just waiting for arrival and nice weather to install. I never heard of tapping into the TPMS wires, but I've been out of the game for quite some time now. I'll keep everyone updated on how this go.

It was definetly kind of strange but maybe im wrong that they were for tpms. But defiently it was 2 wires on the passeneger side.

You are right fisherman, you do tap into the TPMS wires. I found a diagram from Fortin unit that somebody posted.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/fortin-evo-one-remote-start.16061/#post-341574

Lots of good info on that instruction. Will follow that as a guide but i still need to find me a wiring diagram.

Would anyone have a suggestion as to why my Viper remote starter thinks it has started the truck, the truck thinks it has started but it isn't running. When I use the starter it starts the countdown, the truck locks & dash lights come on, etc. If I try to manually start the truck it won't allow me because it thinks it's running. I have to cancel with the remote first. What could have happened?

Either a wire connection came off to the starter wire or the relay in the brain has failed. If you are asking this question, you should take it to a professional to have it troubleshot.

Tried to do that. The local Viper installer said that they won't touch someone else's work but they would be glad to rip it out and install another one for $850!

I'll verify but I don't think so. You mean the one that indicates that the system is armed, around the rearview mirror?

It has to be something simple related to the tie-in to the ignition. I'll look into it. It's just kind of hard to tell what's factory & what's not. There's sooo many wires
I wish I knew how to disable the chirp when locking & unlocking. I feel like a yuppie

Has this remote starter works fine before or has it been like this since you got it installed?

I found this but it may not be the same case as yours.
    PRODUCT (if applicable)
    Viper 5702V

    BYPASS MODULE (if applicable)

    SYMPTOMS
Remote start runs its course but car will not crank. (system re-attempts 3 times

    CAUSE
the 5702v is security and remote start meaning it has built in starter kill. The wires are purple and green (purple output green is the key side of the interrupted crank wire

    RESOLUTION
Reverse the Purple and green wires on the vehicles crank wire

    IMPORTANT NOTE
This article requires a basic understanding of the installed system. Please contact your local Authorized Directed Dealer or Retailer if you require additional assistance.

Thanks very much. It worked flawless when I got the truck in summer '15 until winter '16. This Viper system was dealer installed in '14. Mine even stays running when you open the door to get in. From what I've read that is something that not all systems or installers can do.

I would bring it back to installing dealer and have them take a look at it. The wonderful part about viper is the warranty. If it was installed by the Toyota dealership as an add on you should be able to ask in the service department what company did the work. I have installed a lot of systems and if a customer brought the vehicle back and it was altered yes I may charge to look at it. If you want to disable the alarm chirp it can be done one time by pressing the F button one time and then pressing the lock or unlock if I remember correctly. You can always go onto the DEI website and download the users manual.

    Gavin,
Thanks for the suggestions. I would take it to the dealer but I drove 4hrs to get it so that wouldn't work for me.
I found the function to disable the chirp each time you unlock or lock but that, to me, is ridiculous. I would like to disable & have it stay that way.
I'll try to sort this out when I get some time off work.

Don't blame you for not wanting to bring it 4 hours back. I can take a look at the install guide and see if there is a way to disable the chirping. What model system is it that you have in your truck?

Do you have the model number number of the viper? I might be able to help find an install manual. There is a setting to turn off all chirps. There are many settings that we can change but you will need to know how to use the valet switch and reprogrammed it. Or a bitwriter will be the easiest.

It's a bit of a PITA to turn off the chirps without a bitwriter but can be done. Check out the install guide page 16 is where the programming options you are looking for begin. Feature 3 specifically. Hopefully this at least helps you out with one thing.
