If you had a leak, and drained the entire system, or a pump failure etc. The truck would just sit on the bump stops, which are a chunk of rubber that act as a stiff spring. You would be able to drive to the dealer just fine.

The auto level air system has been amazing for me. I am not going to discuss how much weight I have put in the bed combined with large tongue weights, but the air system handles it VERY well.

You could... but I would wager that given X number of miles, the number of air suspension failures would be magnitudes greater than a traditional coil or leaf spring suspension on passenger vehicles.

If the air bags supplemented a coil spring/leaf spring setup, you wouldn't need to worry about the truck riding around on its bump stops. Also, it's a comical sight on the road when you see a vehicle with a failed air suspension.

your taking a pretty pessimistic view here, the sky could also fall.

I like the way it is now, it rides awesome in combo with AVS, tows awesome, hauls awesome, toyota makes stuff that lasts, Im not worried about it , if I buy another tundra in the future, it will have to have this system or I wont buy it, just like this time.

It's listed at 5724lb dry, with a GVWR of 7600lb. I haven't weighed it loaded. I do have a tongue weight scale, and loaded at it's max (full water tanks, etc.) it has 900lb of tongue weight. I'm quite careful how I load it and how much stuff I put in it, so figure the GVWR is pretty close to the heaviest I'll ever have it. I had a '19 Ram 1500 and a '18 Ram 2500 gas. I like the Tundra the best for towing this trailer. We go out about 6 times per year. Usually only one of those trips is over 3 hours 1 way. If I towed more, or longer distances I would get a diesel. I get a pretty consistent 10mpg (I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, flat land would probably be a little better). That's about exactly what I got in the Ram trucks as well.

Airlift Air bags with compressor cured it for me.

You guys were saying? Looks like the rear of this truck is "hella sagging" - almost like the Carolina Squat.

kinda a piss poor example trying to prove a point

he has a 3” shitty lift is not oem and said “ I assume the tongue weight is”

if you don’t like it, don’t buy it , what’s the point of trying to say it’s shit to those of us who have it, especially with stupid examples

Is there a master list of airbags that work with this trucks? I have seen some say they are compatible, but when I check the reviews they say they don't fit.

I will start off and say that airbags are amazing. For the money, they are a game changer. However, I am going to be a broken record here. Make sure that you understand your axle weights!

Airbags will lift the back of the truck and make it look great. However, they will NOT distribute the weight back to the front axle. A WDH can be very hard to set up and hook up if you have airbags.

Remember, the rear axle of your truck will carry at least 50% but more likely close to 90% that tongue weight with a properly set up WDH. This will cause suspension deflection. On a truck that rides really nice (like these Tundra do) this will result in several inches of suspension deflection or squat. For reference, without WDH you are loading your axle with about 130% of the tongue weight.

More power to you if you are able to get the level ride AND enough weight distribution to keep the front axle at the proper weight. It is very hard to do!

For all you guys running airbags. Before you say it is all that and more, can you please post your scale numbers to prove that you have a legit setup. My bet is that your front axle is light, your rear axle is overloaded and the frame on your truck is not carrying the load as designed because all of the weight is supported by the airbags vs. the springs.
Promoting bad trailering will only result in more crashes.... But the truck will look good just before it goes over the side :)

Buying an HD truck does not change this. You must keep the front axle weight in mind no matter what you are driving/towing.

My Camper is 8830 dry with a 925 tongue weight. I have the Timbren SES and they work perfect. Before (bottom) and after the Timbrens.

In your bottom picture you do not have the spring bars installed in your WDH.

Good point, It had no noticable effect on the rear height though. I set up the WDH myself so may need some tweaking?

That's a WDH? I don't see any clamps on the trailer.

I had not installed them yet, When I took the bottom pic I was testing to see how it affected the height/sag and had not pulled it yet. They are on for good now.

Yeah you may need to set up your wdh better. Theres plenty of youtube vids that help. You should only have 5 link of chain or more. May have to drop your hitch down some also. Im lifted with no bags and my wdh once setup right had me level and I have a 2nd gen. I have about 6 maybe 7 links

Setting up a WDH correctly is the ticket (without air bags)....

Using a 4' level, Level the camper (unhooked from the truck) according to the frame underneath... Measure from the top of the inside of the coupler (where the ball goes) to the ground... Set the ball on the truck at this height... Using something like this ... https://www.acehardware.com/departm...ing-tools/measuring-devices/25865?store=05294 ... Set it on top of the flat spot on the ball... You want the ball to be at a 6 degree angle (a lil more if you want more lift) ...

Measure (the front wheel well) from the top of it to the ground before any thing is hooked up... Set up WDH as said above... and then measure the distance on the front well well again... Your looking for the same original measurement with nothing hooked to the truck...
