We see it all and here is my honest opinion...and I have no skin in the game. I will personally never own another 1/2 ton.

Do you really need to own something to comment on it? Let's just say you were out looking at home builders/remodeling contractors and a very high number of quality control complaints were available at your disposal would you use them? I mean really? "oh fuck, guess everyone was right...these guys suck. I just blew 80K!!!" This is called making an educated decision. They might not have all the facts or information but is it really needed at that point?

There are a lot of people on here that were patiently waiting for the new generation Tundra (and I mean years of waiting) just to be seriously disappointed. You seen the recall and how 100K+ motors will just be replaced in the 3rd gen Tundra. What happens if you are out of warranty? The cost of this repair has been mind blowing. I'm sure when Toyota is shipping crate motors it will be half the cost as now (at least I would hope that 27K dollar bill is cut in half).

Hope that helps you with the "why."

Also, You guys have done a good job getting rid of the just total dumbasses so this is much more applicable now!!

the constant harping on what shit piles we drive with personal bs was out of control for a bit , that’s why there is some left over questions, things are on the upswing now!

all the new high compression tiny turbo engines are shit. And i enjoy a good dumpster fire. And as new stuff gets harder & harder to work on, its icing on the cake. I dont wish mechanical problems on anyone, wish it was driving nannies or gps related, cause those people would deserve it, but with the titans retirement, i'm gonna need a shit show to fan the flames (got a 300k '04 titan i keep running). I seen it coming, and offered a warning, and was accused of fear mongering, and the 3rd genners were so smug until i started being right. I've got to rub stuff in, just a bit. Kudos to toyota saying they're gonna replace all the engines, good on em, but i hope its not tax funded. Sucks to suck.

all my heckling is in good fun. I dont 'BOO' the 3-4 3rd gens in my neighborhood, i might mention to do extra oil changes, but new vehicle people arent usually outside folk. Gotta work hard for that absurd car note.

I did not say anybody "hurt me" just an observation that I was curious about. Also I never said people didn't have the right to go and comment on whatever they want. I just asked the question, what are the motivations behind it? Just seemed weird that a good portion of the people commenting do not own or drive one daily. I have only seen this with real car rivalries like Camaro vs Mustang and stuff like that.

That's probably as good an answer as I will get, thank you.

I think the biggest issue is that the Tundra family is divided. It has always been a loyal bunch of enthusiast that would answer any question and if they didn’t know the answer they would find out. Its always been extremely helpful. It seems now that when someone ask a question you get a smart ass, “that’s what you get for buying an ugly piece of shit….” Makes me laugh. The Tundra has always been the least expensive truck on the market and it was so reliable. I think Toyota priced out a bunch of people and they are BITTER! We also have a bunch of rookie Tundra owners that came from other brands and maybe not the thickest skin. Truth of the matter is the new Tundra is superior in just about every way. I’ve had a bunch of reliable Tundras that I usually traded in around 70k miles and guess what, my 22 has 80k miles and I’ve had the same luck reliability wise as all of them. In fact this is the most miles I’ve had on any of them. This forum has always been helpful and entertaining,,,to me it still is

Many happy 100k+ mile third gen owners. Take the negativity with a grain of salt.

Engines eating bearings and long block replacements are the biggest Toyota news in years, even if it truly is only around 1%. People are going to have opinions. Lots of 2nd genners are still wanting to give Toyota the benefit of the doubt before they trade their problem-free 10-15 year old truck. 2025 is around the corner; this will be the fourth model year of the 3rd gen Tundra, and we still see very un-Toyota-like issues (like 2024 models eating bearings).

If it wasn’t for the non 3rd gen owners and their colorful commentary l would probably fall asleep. And they are allowed to punch “up”, punching down is absolutely forbidden in my book.

See now you are over my head haha. I just dont like the Tundra V tundra hate. I went with a 2nd gen... because of cost. and because I've said from the get go I wanted to wait until 2025 to let R&D fine tune... but the fact y'all have a double cab long bed... lets go.

Tundra regardless of year.. im in. lots of friends with third gens with no issues. That said I dig my 2nd gen that I dont mind if it gets scratched for right now. Coming from many Tacomas which I loved im sold on the Toyota fam... lets just all get along and mess with each other like we should but in good sport.

Do you know why the Gen IIs have a 38 gallon gas tank? Because a 48 wouldn't fit and it would put it over gross weight.:eek2:
