Happened to me. Doesn’t cause an issue. Decided to remove both and tie off the sway bar till I got new links.

 

I tied mine off as well, then I thought it was a great weigh reduction mod…….. loving it!

I was looking at the stock SuspensionMaxx links as part of my steering and suspension overhaul after reading about them on a recent post. I understand there is a problem with installation and accessing the lower bolt on the links. Could you and others explain the access issue at a simple level and workaround to install?

I see that the SuperThin Capri is part of the solution. BTW, I ordered the 30x32 mm wrench earlier this week to hold the steering rack during future ITR install. Timmy the Tool...lol...measured the flats on a 4Runner with 9mm and 10mm on ITR and Rack respectively, so the Capri at 7mm should work as long as the length is not an issue in getting it in there. So I am hoping.

BTW, my swaybar seems to be larger than most at approx 28mm. Besides larger D-bushings, which apparently affects manufacturer options since most seem to be sized at 23-24mm, is there any reason that the links might be affected with fitment issues?

Anyone else have the larger stabilizer installed during production? I think I read a long time ago, that this was the Sequoias were equipped with the larger swaybar

When you guys put in new struts / coils are the mounts something you typically do at the same time? No sign of failure at the moment but don’t want to have to service before I need to do susp work again

 

Are you talking about the strut mount that comes new with struts/coilovers?

 

I need to replace my front eibachs. They come only as the strut and I am removing the lift springs off the old ones. I didn’t get the coilover pkg

 

I got new isolators, but didnt really need em. How rusty is your hardware?

 

Ah ok. I went with coilovers so maybe I'm not the best person to reply, but if I where you I'd go with new hardware.

The key to the nearly inaccessible bolt, is to get at it before it becomes inaccessible. You can get at it once completely installed with a thin enough wrench, and after a break in period, you’ll want to do that anyways. For the initial install however, you can just tighten the vertical bolt to the right amount of bushing ‘squish’, then force the side-stud thru it’s mounting hole in the LCA, and wrench that down. It’s the mounting flange that blocks access to the bolt head, if that makes sense. If you’ve got any amount of lift, you’re going to want the extended length links. Stock ride height - stock length links.
Be warned; while the SusMax links do their job well, they do have a tendency to make a bit of noise, like loud popping sounds. At least they have for me and plenty others. Also, they need to be periodically tightened, for life. Just an fyi.

 

Just got off the phone with my alignment guy and he agreed that the alignment should be done with the planned load. Looks Like I need to have the camper mounted for Monday morning. I'll make up the difference with 80lb bags of Quickcrete. As a bonus I can play with the bag pressures and really see how it's going to ride!

In that case, I'd just buy these. $300, but that's still asking too much IMO if it's just the rims. Wasn't clear to me. I wonder if anyone over on the sister Taco site have anything for sale. Guess I could check.

I could get these. Powder coated black. I hate black wheels on white trucks. Price is pretty high too. Seller came down from $600, to $525. I would probably bite at $100/whl. I'd do the original silver BBS in this style (17x8 @ +5, so 4.7) in a heartbeat.
