I recently re-did all my suspension. I'm getting a rear creak/squeak and i cant trace it down. Heres what i have done.

I replaced the rear leaf springs w/ Deaver U748 and eliminated the lift block. The leaf was installed with the provided bushing for the front from deaver and the bushing provided by Coachbuilder for my Shackle for the rear.
I also replaced the shock with RC Vertex.

I've traced down everything on the above parts and have spoken with both build owners. Verified the correct bushing are installed.

Is this a rear thing for break in period (installed Feb 24) or should i check anything else. Its def coming from the shock leaf spring area but its all brand new and greased. Ive re torqued the ubolts and bolts for both shackle and front of leaf, and the shock.

I know i need to get a video uploaded but haven't had help to stand on bumper to promote the noise.

Nothing common to your setup and mine except the Coachbuilder shackles. I have gotten noise from back there every since I installed everything for 5 years now

FWIIW mine was new from the factory and sounded like that but I was told that is the nature of the beast with leaf springs

Just stumbled upon this. I just did basically the same swap you did about 1500 miles ago (MCM Shackles instead of Coachbuilt), and developed a noise at about the 1000 mile mark. I'm going to probably pull everything apart to see if I could have lubed any of the bushings/sleeves better in the next few thousand miles when I upgrade rear shocks, but it sounds like it may just be life with U748s.

Just out of curiosity, what type of lube did you use on the bushings/sleeves?

Glad to hear it! That's what I'll be going with when I re-lube. I went with the same stuff I use for my SPC joints which energy suspension should work fine, but I suspect that's where at least some of my noise is coming from.

Willing to drive anywhere in NorCal provided it’s a good shop. Preferably around Sacramento to Auburn.

I drove to Las Vegas to have my suspension done.

Stellarbuilt in Sacramento has an outstanding reputation in the Toyota community. Or Chance at Califab in Sacramento, a buddy of mine had some work done there and says Chance's work is absolutely second to none.

Im kicking myself, I have the deavers installed backwards. They were correct left and right but i had to flip both sides. Once i did that everything went whisper quite. They were installed wrong for 6 weeks. I work remote and hardly drive and deaver said it happens all the time. I just used a blue all purpose poly grease i had in the shop/ dont know the brand sorry.

I've put some more miles on them and mine have actually gotten a lot quieter. Can't tell if that's good or bad lol, but self clearancing is still clearancing.

With the new leafs did it at 2” of lift in the rear? I just installed mine with a 1” shackle and it lifted the rear to have about a 2” rake now like from factory lol do these settle at all?

They’ll settle a bit, but I’m pretty sure I’ve got more than 2” from mine after a couple years, about 70,000 miles, with about 10K of those towing. My truck is also a fat 7,200# pig with plenty of weight on the rear.

I probably had 4” lift in the rear when I first out the U748s in. Still a heave 2” I’m sure.

Wish they made a spring that performed like this model, but with only 1” lift.

My shackles are +1.5” OAL, so closer to 0.75” lift from them.
I didn’t take accurate measurements, but it was pretty tall till the springs broke in! Sits about perfect now, with just a little rake.
Every day, it has a canopy, Bedslide, box of tools and gear, and a 50L Dometic fridge full of beers. 100# spare tire under the bed.

Towing my travel trailer, it’ll squat pretty hard till I get the WDH set. Then it’s nice again. My tongue weight is around 800#. The springs are legit and handle everything I have thrown at them. After they broke in and settled, they’re perfect for my use.
