I want to ditch all the chrome. Swap out the grille, mirrors, and wheels. Also planning to get a camper shell and install a decked system for my work tools.

Nice, I have a 7 year old that could probably help me in a similar capacity too lol. I am thinking of doing black as well. Not sure I can match the burgandy color anyways. Just gotta decide if I want to do the front bumper as well. Already looking at a black grille. then either just remove or paint that little chrome accent under the grille.

You can paint the grill, but you’d have to sand all the chrome off or at least spray adhesion promoter before you lay primer. If you’re planning on paying someone it might be worth buying a non chrome grill for ~$65 on eBay and paint that instead. Side mirrors take a lot of road debris. Find a junkyard sequoia or tundra with painted mirror caps and paint that instead. You’re doing black I say wrap over the chrome. I prefer the color match.

Even once you think you're done, you either see something shiny and new for the rig, or you break something. You ain't ever getting out of 1GT crew.

Here she is in full view. I haven't put much effort into the back end since I'm still trying to dial in the front suspension. @BroHon 20240714_071023.jpg

Yea I'm probably just gonna buy a black grille there are a ton of options. Just gotta do something with that little chrome accent under the actual grille.

I'll keep that in mind should I ever need some reinforcements... or just people who know what they're doing. I'm a commercial electrician so I can work with my hands but idk fuck all about fixing things or working on vehicles. Spent most of my adult life in the Army fucking them up pretty good though lol.

I've had Reba for ~ 2.5 years now. She's a 2001 Limited TRD Offroad 4WD AC. Bought her from a friend in the local Land Cruiser club, Olde North State Cruisers (IH8MUD).

She is a pretty lady, but has had a harder life for only 140K miles: Original owner was pretty rough on her, using her to tow for his business, drilling a sun visor thing in her roof, lots of dings etc. 2nd owner (friend) had to have a shop replace the 4 speed A340. He tried to clean her up with new Marathon seat covers, new stereo, some maintenance, etc. Despite her dings and marks outside, she is pretty gorgeous inside.

Her engine is strong, though and the transmission shifts smooth. She runs well!

I have built a couple dual battery systems for other trucks, but swapped the one from my old 4Runner into Reba. I'm in the process of running lines to the back seat for the ARB fridge. Took out the rear seats and put in some sound deadening. Going to bolt in some finished plywood as a platform for dog and fridge and give us some cubby holes underneath/behind the seats for storage. I'm on @BashFab 's list to help me with the rock sliders when we can make that work :)

Just got through doing the UBJ, LBJ and tie-rod ends and the Bilstein 6112's. I had a local shop swap in new rear leaf springs from General Springs - their Heavy Duty 5 leaf pack in prep for some kind of light-weight camper like a GFC or Tune M1 when the Wife and I get the $$ together. New'ish Falken Wildpeak 255/80R17's and the Matte Grey TRD Pro 4Runner wheels. Its been 8 mos since our last trip to mountains and we are waiting for colder weather!
