So that particular AAL ads like 1"?

I have 1.5" single OG Wheeler AALs in OE pack from like a decade ago. Getting a little (normal) Toy lean on the rear left (@ 250,000 miles) and considering what to do next.

Remember the build thread. So basically you expected 6 leaves x 1/2" for 3" total when you decided to build it up that way?

Most single AALs advertise 2" and most progressive AALs (3 leafs) advertise 1.5"

Edit: to answer the lean, your could swap side of your leaf packs and adjust your front suspension by either using a shim spacer on the driver side or if you have adjustable coilovers, use them to raise the front a half inch or so.

Definitely trial and error involved if you're a perfectionist. I know a handful of others have done a fair bit of trial and error. I think a few just get lucky and are happy with their first attempt

I have some wiggle room since the truck gets 700lbs of camper and gear loaded. I will have airbags too, so some ride height adjustment can be made. I am fully prepared to add/subtract leaves until I am happy.

Thanks for the Serra heads up, I had almost forgotten I was waiting for a sale. I picked up steering rack boots, clamps, outer TRE's, and a PCV valve. Saved $54 by their math.

So you probably gonna ditch those 5100's and assuming OEM coils for some
adjustable 2.5's with 700lb coils down the road

Woke up an hour before my alarm, and was in the shop by 6. A good thing if I want the truck back on the ground today.

Made up these doublers to replace the factory units that I peeled off.

At my desk finalizing the spring perch design for the u bolt eliminator. Wish me luck!

Pretty. So why'd you ditch the stock ones?
At first I thought maybe you'd have gotta Sequoia axle, but then I saw the drums.

Curiosity more than anything here, but how will you set the angle it'll get welded on, or is there some rule of thumb, like always weld the tops parallel to the pinion shaft? I mean, I realize you can shim if the pinion angle is off, it's what I've typically done on major drops, but I've never built an axle with its provisions from the ground up.

Are you also planning to weld up provisions for a rear sway?

Anyone know of replacement LSD stickers? The writing on these (and others like on the front diff and CVs) don't seem to react well to solvents.

I center punched through the original spring hangers before removing them just a a reference. The two punch marks could be connected with a line to get a centerline layout mark to the original locations.

Some guys just pick a pinion angle between 3-5 degrees, and some guys measure the t-case output angle and do the opposite on axle side.

You are supposed to set the pinion angle at ride height. The way I have fabricated the u bolt eliminators I have plenty of rotational adjustment :D I Think I have 13 bags of 80lb quickcrete around here (1040 lbs) that I could load the chassis with to simulate the weight of the flatbed/camper combo. Or I guess that's the working plan? Fast and Loose.

I hadn't thought about a rear sway bar, I'll have to look into that!

I got interested in the u bolt eliminator because I'll likely have to do some fine tuning on the leaf pack.
I can get the 8 grade8 nuts and bolts locally and pay by the pound. Costs about $20 for the whole set. vs ordering u bolts and waiting etc.
It will make putting the airbag cups where I want them much easier.
It's been said that it controls axle wrap much better than a standard spring perch.
    Just because I can :p

Springs are assembled and ready to go in, just gotta reference the shackle and bolt orientations. Top plates/ lower bag cup mount coming right up!

If you know a good way to remove them and keep in tact, I have an elocker now and don't need my LSD sticker.
Once my other tundra gets its TrueTrac, it won't need the sticker either. As they don't require LSD oil

A Sequoia rear sway bar might fit? I took a close look at one at a wrecking years not to long ago, and it looked like it wouldn’t be that difficult to make it work on a tundra. The best part is that it’s high clearance design, so there’s nothing that hangs down below the axle housing.
