I gosh darn went ahead and dun it: "wast" my money on a 2024.

Spare do not come with TPMS, however there is a thread explaining how to add one including the part number for the TPMS and how to get it programmed. Truck is capable to show 5 wheel pressures, just needs to be added and turned on.

 

Thanks! I was hoping to find the TPMS sensor with the black stem that comes with the TRD off road wheels, since I really want to get a TRD black wheel and the TPMS sensor, to get a matching spare and dump the 18 inch steelie. The part numbers that comes up have the silver stem thus far. Any ideas?

Anyone have thoughts on why Toyota started supplying a spare tire (not wheel) that does not match the other four?

 

It would be easy to get upset at Toyota for cheapening out, but I suspect it has something to do with how many people prefer to upgrade to their own chosen set of wheels and tires according to their needs. I am in the process of creating a matching proper spare for my truck, similar to my own personal opinion of what a 70k truck should have come with as a spare in the first place.

 

From here, that cover looks incredibly easy to remove.. surely the pic doesnt tell the full story?

 

Money. Pretty sure most Tacoma trims now don’t even come with a full sized spare. I can’t seem to find the Tacomaworld thread anymore though… so maybe it was an error and has been corrected?
