Nah that can't be. Someone else was trying to get trans temps to come up and they eventually figured it out. Update PIDs....?

Yeah, that sucks man. It definitely works in my 2020. After I installed the trans cooler, stays just under 190 all the time according to the Alpine.

There are a few OBD settings in the maestro menu on the Alpine. I think I set mine to “Always On” or “Enable On-Demand” and it picks it up better after a restart. There’s also a Validate PIDs option that will rescan your available options and mine always works after that.

Do you mean the maestro menu when you flash it, or accessible through the HU?

Through the HU. Now getting to the right page… that’s the fun part. I can never remember how to find it.

Cool. I'll pack an ice chest and sit in the truck for a few hours tomorrow getting frustrated and buzzed as I randomly go through the settings menu. Should be fun.

Maybe go take a peek at what the 3rd gen folks are up to. Perhaps poke them with a stick. I need to live vicariously through you.

Y'all still happy with this HU, my Kenwood keeps rebooting itself for no reason.
I should have bought one of these when they were on sale..

    I've had 2 of them...:(
So far in my 2014 I've had 2 Kenwood and 2 Pioneer HUs.
    The Pioneer lag was terrible..

    I can't decide if I'd want the 9" or 11" screen.

My new Kenwood has been pretty spot on, except I still have an issue where the volume is super low when making outgoing calls. I think it has something to do with the volume on the iPhone and less with the Kenwood. Or maybe it’s something to do with Toyota’s amp. It’s cool though because I don’t like talking to people that much anyway.

I have the 9 in the 4Runner - it’s good for the 4Runner because of where they put the air vents but I would definitely gone with the 11 inch in the Tundra. I think the Kenwood fits the space about perfectly.

I might consider the Halo 9" if I could flush mount it like the Pioneer is. Maybe @texasrho83 will do it and I'll follow. :boink:

My Kenwood is one of the old 7", it seems so small these days.
I would miss my start-up screen.
I don't see anything in the Alpine manual to customize it.

These stereos don’t allow for a flush mount - because the screen floats from the innards and allows for a little tilt. The Kenwood sticks out an inch or so but it doesn’t bother me at all and doesn’t look out of place. So much better than what came with it.

Regarding lag, are y'all talking swiping screen to screen or menu selections?

I guess the good thing about this Pioneer of mine is very little to no lag.
