And its blue, official racing color of the French.

The Ford probably had a hole in the hood after the burnout from the 5.4 launching a spark plug.

There used to be a “pump and run” during the Portland Marathon years and years ago. You could sign up beforehand to enter a bench press challenge during the middle of the race. I would have given it a shot, but it takes me a LOT longer than 90 minutes to run 26.2 miles.

There’s an older guy at the gym who i’m friends with. He used to be about a 2.30 marathon runner (back when he was much younger). His body type didn’t fit the distance runner norm at all. 6’ 3”, 175lbs. Mile pace for his marathons were about 5:45 minutes AND he could bench press 275lbs! That’s pretty much unheard of for a fast distance runner.

Yeah, he would be the type to be in the club. I've done 305 in my 20's and 2:31 in my 30's so I'm pretty comparable to your gym pal, I'm just 5" shorter and maybe 5 lbs lighter at race weight and probably his PR beyotch unless he's embellishing and he really ran 2:33 or something. Get his info and have him reach out to me, if he can still go sub 3, maybe he can be a founding member of this unless he's too old to bench. Or maybe we can just do a category for lifetime BPM while I work on the one week version. But lifetime is just too easy I think.

The pump and run sounds like something I would be into. Looks like there are still a few lingering events of that genre:

    Running smooth with zero leaks.

    Cam seals
    Crank seal
    Timing belt-tensioner-tensioner pulley-idler pulley
    Water pump
    Thermostat
    Front water crossover and gaskets
    Radiator
    A/C Compressor
    A/C Condensor
    Hayes 678 Trans cooler
    Valve cover gaskets
Throttle body cleaned and new gasket

    There's probably somethings I forgot.

I still need to fab a third mount for the trans cooler, extend some horn wiring for their slightly different location, and figure out my blend door problem as the defrost vents are always getting air. I'll re-torque the valve covers after a few heat cycles.

Don't forget this when doing valve cover gaskets:

    20240618_081520.jpg
I did the first time. It makes sense with the sharp corner of the gasket there, and the added velocity of oil slinging off the timing gears.

Weird, it doesn't mention doing the half moons in that. FSM showed that for mine, removal, cleanup, and how to install/smooth. I swore it did at least.

I believe the ones I picked up off someone on here came with 650# in the box. I'm running 700# on my AC/4WD in the Toytec coilovers, w/E-rated tires and it's pretty painful on pavement.

First gen appreciation post - last week I spent around $40 and a couple hours putting a always on 12v plug in my bed of my truck to run a fridge - just noticed today the 12v in the back of the Sequoia stays on all the time from the factory.

    I hate new stuff.

    Yesterday and today:

Cleaned off the Colorado dirt from the road trip and changed the oil. I forgot I had actually put the oil filter on with one of those stupid wrenches so I couldn’t get it off by hand. So this filter’s gonna have to go 10k miles instead of just 5k. Also noticed the crossmember under the skid plate is a little oily. Gonna pretend I didn’t see that. And I joined club where you torque down the skid plate with a cordless and it grabs and swings the battery end around and whacks you in the lip. Just blood, no stitches though.

Feels good to fire out my first post. Been tackling a frame restoration job on my 00’ Access cab, mid-frame is the only area that’s concerning. Have auto-rust mid frame sections en route and I’ll get some new stiffeners made up. IMG_9306.jpg

Be sure to post the mid-frame sections when they’re done. I’m really curious how they look.
