Yes. I have done it before. The tundra VB is 3 parts where the 4L70E was a 1 part VB. Sonnax is very detailed in the instructions so it shouldn't be hard.

Not sure I will notice anything different since my trans is running perfect at 40k miles. Doing it as a preventive maintenance type of thing.

Hardest part is keeping track of those check balls. Everything else should be a smooth install.

The Sonnax instructions even shows the check ball locations. But yes everything else should be a smooth install.

There aren't many mechanical things I won't tackle myself, but messing with the guts of an automatic transmission makes me nervous.

i concur... just something about watching those transmission rebuild videos showing all 1000 pieces going in proper order and knowing all it takes is one mistake and you're f'd.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    ditto.

watching them do it from rote memory tells me I simply need to hire them to do it.

I watched enough precisiontransmission youtube videos to know, transmissions will NEVER be in my wheelhouse.

Agreed. When my Crewmax transmission died I took it to the best shop in town, they do nothing but transmissions. He refused to rebuild it, said get a good used one from LKQ. That's what I did. 1300 for a 80k transmission and 700 to install.

I may know the answer to this but looking for a way around it.

I have 5300 miles on my 2021 and I am dying to put a SC on it as I have the $$$ funds to play with. My only beef is "voiding" the extended warranty 10 Years / 125K miles. Is there a way around that? Any tricks or creative ways to add the SC and still keep the extended warranty? Maybe have a Toyota Service shop putting the SC on? Voiding my warranty or taking my chances is not acceptable, so is either white or black, but no gray for me :)

Whatever this forum told me to do
as stated previously, there are unwritten rules about using Warranty & Supercharger in the same sentence.

    mutually contradictory.

with that said. I put mine on @ 25k. I now have 106k of smiling now.

Sparks Toyota used to do TVS 1900 installs and you kept your Toyota warranty. There was mention of another Toyota dealer on the West coast that did the same but the name escapes me; been a while since it was mentioned.

When Toyota offered the TRD SC program, that was an acceptable thing to do - or at leas that was what I was told by my dealer. I could purchase the 125k mile warranty, then have the TRD SC installed by the dealership at any time in that warranty period, and retain the warranty. They closed the program before I could have one installed, but that was my plan. I don't think they would continue to honor it, but you may as well ask.

@JohnWhicker If you are ok with the smaller Maggie I would give Sparks a call. They were supporting the program up until late 2021.

I will take anything over nothing LOL. How much does the smaller Maggie adds to the stock power?

    You talking about sparksparts.com?

Pulley size determines power. Stock after power train loss is ~300WHP. The blower will take you to ~500WHP or in that ball park. Depends on what options you add.

Tundra Dude Youtube mentioned these guys; I emailed them, looks like they want you to go through the contact form.

I've heard issues from Sparkparts I'd steer clear. From the recent transition it's been a mess.

That sucks to hear. The installers are part of the same department.

@JohnWhicker What they quoted me; prices most certainly have gone up:

Our price for the SC kit installed is $9129.00.
    $6995 for the SC
    $559.60 Tax
    $1574.40 Labor

Is fine, I can do 10K on this project :) Saved me 36K from not buying the 3rd gen so me wife will not kill me, YET :) 10K is a small price to pay if I can keep my extended warranty that's for sure.

If they still support the program get it in writing that they let you keep your warranty.
There is the Magnuson Limited Warranty which is 3 Years/36K Miles for any damage from a faulty blower. This isn't the same as the Toyota Warranty which you probably know.

I dont blame ya. When time comes as ling as they iron stuff out maybe, MAYBE, id consider a turd gen after 10 years but def not right now with all the issues. I still think theyre ugly anyways. If I do eventually move on it will most likely be a diesel

This is mine on a much lesser tune with a smaller Throttle Body, lesser intake & slipping belt. I bet it is minimum 10% more now.

There is HOPE. Sparks guys just called after I sent an email. Give them my VIN number and they said the truck is still under 36K, 3 Years factory warranty plus the 10 Year / 125K extended warranty, with only 5300 miles on it, so Toyota actually may honor a Magnuson supercharge install. They're calling around to make sure 100% that is the case. Will keep you updated. Man this will be so eF'ing cool if I can do it :)

Well I've come to the realization that my driving and use case is hard on parts. No surprise. I think I'm getting a slight hint of coupler noise on the whipple. Which again would happen on any blower I'm sure with how we use the rigs. Apparently there's a carbon coupler upgrade but confirming with Whipple. If the blowers coming off I can promise it will not go back on stock and I'll send it out to Jokerz performance or Kong for porting... I need to yank the belt and confirm the noise since it's faint.
