Thank you for the info. I'll hold onto the sensors when I get them and change the oil/battery tomorrow. Then I will drive and screen record the drive and make a YouTube of it. If nothing weird I'll replace the maf alone first and see if there is a difference before doing the O2s.

Considering you have no fuel filter, and your tank is poly, not metal, and you’re not a dumbass who sucked up Seagram thru a vacuum line which Seagram explicitly tells you never to do, I highly doubt it.

Just a FYI. The O2's have little to do with how it runs. They are watchdogs on your cats. They help make minor adjustments to fuel trims. The A/F's are the major players. Take your snapshot as the issues happens. You may need someone to drive while you capture.

It can get a little confusing though, Denso doesn't use "a/f sensor" to describe all upstreams, in some cases using "O2 sensor" for all four. Generally speaking, you'll find people using "O2 sensor" in here (maybe for that reason), and just specify upstream/downstream so folks know what's being talked about.

Agreed. Denso isn't the only one still calling them O2's.

I just woke up. This is a little confusing the 4 sensors I bought are a/fs correct.

The front sensors are air/fuel ratio sensors. The rear are conventional O2 sensors. Some people and manufactures call the A/F sensors front or upstream O2 sensors.

    I'd over-simplify it: A/F Sensor = O2 Sensor.

The sensors do roughly the same thing, but kinda have two different roles. "A/F sensor" is common term for the upstream O2 sensor specifically, for good reason.

Upstream is measuring for oxygen content on the the freshly burnt exhaust to ensure the air/fuel mixture your ECU/ECM has mapped is producing an equally. Down stream (after the cat) is measuring what comes out the back side of the cat, where the ECU/ECM calculates the difference/delta in the two measurements, to ensure your cats are efficiently burning. It's all part of the larger system. This is oversimplifying again, but ....

That in mind, think about it: If the upstream isn't reading the contents of your exhaust for oxygen/unburnt fuel/etc. coming out of the respective head/bank it's installed on properly, and it's askew enough that the ECU/ECM adds too much or not enough fuel into cylinders, you'd end up with detonation issues, where you're misfiring, burning rich, or burning lean. Misfires lead to rumbling/shaking/bucking/choking. Granted, so can a bad motor mount, but ...

I posted live data here. Let me know if i should stop scrolling annoyingly and record on only 1 specific section. This my first time screen recording.

I am going to change my oil for a second time now. Although it feels like a waste and I should keep my drained 2 day old oil.

I posted a video on the first gen tundra fb group when I bought the truck and like 20 people said this was normal. If not then yes I need to figure out what's going on.

So a wonky gauge? Mine is nearly half way up at idle. And will go past half way when on the gas. IMG_4620.jpg

you also got a 00' while me and OP got 05-06's. My assumption maybe different read outs? I could be wrong

I watched his video. His behaves just like mine. Around a quarter at warmed idle. Never much over 1/2-3/4 space when on the gas. Send a pic of yours at idle after warmed up.

Oh I'm not taking offense to anything. If anything I realize I'm being annoying with all the back and forth. But I really can't do shit in my tiny driveway. It's like 7ft wide between the fence and house. And I'm real sick of going to parks or down what we call the A road (a logging road) with no service to work on my vehicles on my days off. That's why I can't just take the axle out and reboot so easily.

it gets checked once a week. When I put the throttle to the floor and run through 2-3 gears redlining my truck.

I'd also like to add my truck is NOT the one dying after an oil change. As a matter of fact, last week I did the seafoam treatment in both my tank and crankcase. Damn well exactly like OP. 6oz in the crank, dumped the rest in the fuel tank.

Also you guys haven't see how fucked my hands are. Doing anything is painful even picking up hot food. They're actually pretty healed right now. Adds a level of irritation to everything I'm doing.

    You're mother.

Lmao just a product of the job. That or psorasis/dysochrotic eczema. I don't know the medical facilities out here are worse than the truck shops. All blood work and allergy tests were normal. Started in 2020 on one thumb and spread to this over 4 years. Could be auto immune I really have no answers after 10 visits and multiple tests. Probably gonna have a short life from the inflammation tho.
