At idle you'll see negative numbers, I'm typically at around -20PSI EDIT***usually +/-2***, some days higher some days lower. For reference I am practically at sea level so my boost will be higher than those at elevation and/or different blower + pulley combos.

I just noticed the unit is in "inches of mercury" which is ~2x PSI so seems like it is right. AFR is leaner than stoich by a hair. Mine blips on occasion. Maybe others can comment.

The AFR reading oscillates slightly above and below the target, this is normal.

Same here, and -21.6 inches of mercury is great at idle! 1PSI = 2inHg

So I was just driving along normally and the truck freaked out and it threw a P0171 and 0174 code? Haven’t had any issues since install. Any ideas what caused it and is there anything I can do to prevent it?

Do you have any leaks in your plumbing? Seems like it could be you're sucking in some unmetered air or something...looks thru your fender well and look at the exhaust that was "removed" to weld that bung in...I assume they removed it and if so, sometimes the OE gasket can faulter when changing pipe connections...I had a new gasket installed when I did mine as it was recommended by the exhaust guy and after seeing it once done, I'm glad I paid the $8 O'Riely's Felpro gasket! I haven't had an issue since...I'd check with Freedom and see if they used the existing gasket or if they replaced it...that will be the reasoning...or, at least I'm 90% sure it would be...easy fix

**I forgot a gasket was recommended as I didn't buy one when I thought I purchased everything I needed!

Check hoses going to the intake, throttle body coupler. Either the tune was already off and it finally went off far enough to trigger it (though looking at datalogs most of them were within 1-2% for fuel trims), or something post-MAF is leaking. If you have a datalog send it over and I'll check it out.

Air leaks are...we're my nemesis. Definitely check all connections. Ccv tubes good? A little maf cleaner sprayed around tubing gives a higher idle. Was my friend for a little bit.

Biting tongue while typing: The Sequoia, was easy peasy on the air/sc install, no leaks or issues, the BMW made up for it & every fix entailed removing the intake, TB & a slew of plumbing, such a PITA!

I looked at my Sniv 2.2 pulley today, I am down to one issue on the BMW before I can tackle the Mishimoto & 2.2 install.

I wish I could play with all you guys upping the power. Every day I talk to someone (just replied to @Abell207 and @armyoffoo actually) about running more boost. My poor 1900 is maxed out and I'm lucky to see 8psi on the regular. I want to be able to see how far the stock engine can go with some conservative tuning, but the altitude and small blower has me by the balls right now.

I sent an email to VF Tuner today to see if I can get my wife's GX460 unlocked for tuning, and if that's possible then I'm going to figure out how to mount the 1900 (and by extension any 5.7 blower) on the 4.6, and then presumably get a Whipple for my Tundra and see how much power she can make. All of that is months out no doubt, but you guys kill me talking about the cool stuff and I'm sitting here with the smallest pulley already and barely making any power relatively :ballchain:

Toby, you need to buy a 2018, for research only, write it off, and have a small tuning club where only xx many people can join...that'll keep you busy whilst paying the bills and having the fun!

That'd be a cool world, but Sniv Speed Shop has a long way to go to be competitive with aerospace pay hahaha, though lord knows it's a lot more fun! :D

I'm maxxed out as far as I know. Even with the 2.0 pulley and 6.71 inch ASP overdrive crank pulley it's at 14psi.
I'll run your safe conservative tune for you and send in some videos! :D:fingerscrossed:

Yea I wonder how far even a big blower can go. Like would turbocharging just be a better route if I want to push the limits for power? Like can a stock engine survive 20psi, that's the questions I have :D

Wasn't there a LC200 that the Saudis lowered and turbo-charged that went 234mph and it could go faster? I forget the psi it was running but it was fantastically amazing!

    Many on the way.
Harrop has a 1900 kit for the 4.6L. The Magnuson 1900 for the 5.7 is too wide at the intake ports.

Turbocharging will easily make more power, no losses driving the big SC air pumps.

Good to know, someone had told me they thought the intakes were the exact same which seemed unlikely but I was hopeful. I've seen the 4.6 blower, but it'd be cheaper (and cooler imo) to just make some adapter plates for the TRD blower onto the 4.6, assuming nothing else is in the way. But tuning is the first hurdle to overcome.

The turbo would probably be quite a bit cheaper in general, plus my neighbor works at a diesel performance shop so I should be able to get all the goods at a discount :D

all the connections look good. I’m hedging my bet on a shit weld job. I don’t think they took the cat off the truck when they welded it up. Looks way too low on the side vs where @HulkSmurf14 had his bung installed

Start it, and spray wd40 on the bung...see if it spits on you...just have them fix it...as annoying as it is, they should do it no problem! :welder:

As the codes are for both exhaust banks, I would think that it's gotta be something with the engine/intake/tune. A bad weld on one bank isn't going to set a code on both.

Gotcha! Thank you for the info. Just seems strange that it’s ran fine for a couple months and then after the gauge install it crapped the bed.

Everytime Holdener talks to this topic the above is pretty much the conclusion. His crossover point also seems to be blower spun below 10 PSI Turbo above 10PSI. For blowers he favors Twin Screws and Centrifugal over Roots. I don't remember his hierarchy of turbos but I think it is sequential, parallel/twins, one large turbo properly sized for top end power.
