    Hello all-

I hope the community can help me with an approximate value, as there is someone who is wanting to trade a Gen1 Tundra for one of my rides. I don't know much about the Tundras, and this one seems to be a special one. It's a 2005 Limited Double Cab, TRD, that has every option offered that year. It's got 70k miles and is in REALLY good shape. Comes from a rust free state.

A ballpark market value estimate would be very much appreciated. I just haven't been able to find any comparables, or wouldn't clog up your forum with this.

Looking forward to potentially being a REAL member on here though!

Thank you for this! Would it being a TRD Offroad edition not mean it's 4wd?

Oh, and @FatBuoy, if only for reference, I bought my truck as a fully-loaded 2006 V8/4WD Limited Access Cab with tow package damn near every option except wood and around 61k-62k miles off the "trade-ins waiting for processing" back lot at a dealership 90 minutes from my house. They had it listed at $16k tentatively and I got them down a couple grand b/c the paint needed a buff-out, and it had a couple of really basic cosmetic issues.

If in California, and I had hard, indisputable proof the timing belt was done within the last 10yr or 100k miles, in its current pristine condition but without the lift/wheels/etc. (i.e. unmolested), I'd expect my truck in today's Californistan market to probably fetch around $18k if it was in original condition, maybe an extra thousand or to above whatever a 2WD would fetch because 4WD always demands more money. But the proof is in the pictures. And we've seen too many times where trucks SOLD in rust-free states didn't always LIVE in rust-free states their whole life, and lots of people looooove to cover-up frame issues, so ...

It’s sad but true yota has always built trd off road models that were and continue to be useless 2wd vehicles. Careful posting here though, any lift post will be attacked with either inferior parts or why do you need the truck so high questions. Never in my life have I seen a place like the first gen forum here. It’s why I don’t post much. However if you love paw caps, they will love you.

get outta your feelings. This is the internet.
whatcha gonna do with the truck?! Off-road? Prerunner? Daily work truck? Do give details. If you got thick skin and a sense of humor. You'll fit right in

I don't even think you need thick skin. Just absence of ego and traces of a sense of humor. Inflated ego is what typically lends to being butthurt by commentary. Not targeting that latter bit at Elevatorguy, just calling it as we've seen it unfurl in the past. I haven't had beef with EG in the past, and don't now.

2018 2wd TRD Off road and FAR from useless. Less initial cost, better gas mileage, tighter turn radius, less maintenance, NEVER need 4wd.

    So there.

No beef shifty, Those just seem to be common place in every lift post here. Fish ninja if you think I’ve let out my feeling you have less traction than a 2wd truck.

@Tlar25 My truck is not lifted. I had plans to do it but I probably never will. On average I drive the truck 20 miles a month.

i have kinda figured you should lurk for 4-6 months before you post so you can figure out the room
then when you think you got everything figured out you still better watch what you say
mentioning anything political or slightly offensive gets you a 30 day vacation
you guys be nice, being rude is totally rude and like totally not accepted

Guess I'm just used to forums. This one is pretty similar to others I've been on. FAR nicer that some. I mean have you visited Pirate 4x4 forum? No room for error over there. Cruelty encouraged. Been a long time since I visited. But back then, boy, if you ask a question that's addressed in a sticky, you're just asking for a vulgar, abusive pile on. And you absolutely won't get an answer.

Here, people just have standards. Don't hack-job your truck. Don't install complete crap parts. And while it is sort of a judgement call, not totally objective...if you're going full mall-crawler, doing ridiculous modifications that take away functionality to the point of being dangerous, and it's all for looks, you'll definitely get shit.

    All stuff I can handle.
